  1. Sylvania Exhibition Center ,Sylvania Ohio
  2. I'll get in there Friday nite Pat, do you know if the flashlight trunk sellers are gonna be around?
  3. I don't doubt that the resin items from Johan are sometimes on the poor side , I've passed on many items such as interior tubs and boots , but I see these items at shows in person and wont buy if it needs more work than its worth...I should have posted pics with my earlier post...Harry asked if I was happy with my purchase...sure I am , but again I bought this in person and was able to check it out....resin this time around looks pretty good too.... heres the resin items this resin looked pretty good this time around....maybe someone else is casting the parts now or just do a better job than before , that I cant answer... sorry about the picture quality ...I'm still getting things re-organized since the flood last year.....so I'm a little slow..
  4. I saw Okey @ the Dupage swapmeet 2 weeks ago and picked up 1956 Oldsmobile Holiday 4dr hardtop...kit includes body, chassis plate [no detail] chrome hubcaps , headlights, bumpers and red clear tail lights.. vinyl no-name tires and [2] metal axles and green tinted promo glass $17.00....for an extra 12.00 you can get the interior , steering wheel and column in resin...Comes in tan, white, cream, light blue or red in a promo style box..
  5. Measure the distance from the center of the front wheel to the center of the back wheel....[ the last axle]
  6. Izzy we also had record rains here in Chicago about 2 weeks ago......in 19 years of living here I thought my basement was pretty safe from water so I moved all my stash down and even put in bigger pumps and a back up system...I was luckier than most in my area only getting 10 inches of water in the basement...85 kits got soaked........now moving everything to higher ground on the second floor where it was before.......now the clean up is over and back to normal but I have to get some model boxes to put the dried out kits in......I know what to look for at the 'Plastic kit show' in dupage this sunday... BEFORE........ AFTER
  7. I found some time to stop in to the 1st annual Summer NNL in Crystal Lake Illinois today and the tables were loaded with some great builds...the weather was great for the outdoor vendor area....the guys at GTR Auto Modelers did a fine job putting this together...a great turn out for the 1st year, and I know I'll be back..... more here Summer NNL
  8. Build them the way you want, with almost 2,500 members and only 2 negative comments you want to hang it up?....it would be an empty board if we all felt this way...I remember ''tuners'' getting a bad rap from ''american muscle'' guys...the ''modern style customs'' getting knocked by ''old schoolers''....so build it , post it and be proud of it, or you'll be accused of putting the model companies out of business for your lack of support by some others that dont matter...
  9. The first 1,000 kits are the hardest, after that the more you buy kinda blend in..my wife goes to swap meets and shows , but we get in a few days early and do and see what she wants to do....this year we plan on trying to go to the NNL East for the first time and Toledo again.....heres a pic from our visit to Hobby Heaven with Tom Carter......
  10. My shelves look bare with that kit missing and I just could not let you go home empty handed , and that kit is a ''DECAL'' lovers dream....I know its in good hands along with the F-18
  11. I drive cross country for two companies an Allied van lines agent [Hassett moving and storage] and [Hassett Air] our freight division..mostly haul out west but ran 44 states in 2007 hauling furniture, machines, tradeshows and computer servers...in the summer of '07 I moved ''Doctors without borders'' exhibit for 5 weeks starting in Chicago to Milwaukee , Minneapolis , Houston and Dallas. Loring Park in Minneapolis was the tightest place I ever had to put a truck Our new furniture trailers have a air lift system that raises the back of the trailer to dock level so I can really haul just about anything. I drive a 2006 Peterbilt normally but grab one of the other trucks for shorter or tighter hauls....Last year I drove 145,000 miles..thats down from 2006 which was 161,000....I'm getting it down even more in 2008 ,the company asked me to try running the dock.. I'm learning freight consolidation and paper work , but at age 53 and started driving a truck at 22 its not easy to change all at once..so I do the dock thing a few times a month and drive the rest...
  12. Irv, you have the nicest slot cars I ever seen...great stuff..
  13. I started 4 builds since August and completed ''0''....so whats one more gonna hurt...I started this AMT Willys and will get it done....every time I start something work gets super busy , and I'm gone for ten days....for 2008 I was told I would have more home time , so my promise to myself is complete more than I got done in 2007. I'm not going to go nuts on this Willys but got the ride level where I like it, make some spring shackles, and since its a flip nose I'll pay attention to the engine bay a little closer....and some P/E hood pins at the cowl top....now I can keep my new year promise as long as the company keeps up its end.... no thought on color yet...maybe a ''Jade green'' with black interior or ''Dark silver'' with dark red interior....or ''yellow''...I have a short 6 day run to thinkabout it..
  14. Build looks great, but its not a '64....its a '61...unless the 1964 pertains to something else? you got that ZR snuggled in nice..
  15. use ''insert image'' button to post pictures Albert, the attachment way fills up fast, then you have to delete pics to make room....its the 2nd button to the right of the smiley face when your creating a post.. yours did work
  16. Albert really glad you made it here..its a little different format but you'll adjust fine..
  17. Went to the local hobby shop for some ELO and strolled thru the kit aisle...spotted this box 1967 Mustang SEMA EDITION Mustang.....no changes what-so ever from the last offering except its done in white...also noticed some other kits from AMT popping up , the 29 ford woody/pick-up 4 in 1 , Ice Cream Truck show rod just to name a few . I bought the last 2 cans of ELO [easy lift off paint remover]..this stuff is getting hard to find in my area..
  18. kharts right...collector value is zip...build it...
  19. I agree with all those names mentioned and toss in this 1961 Corvair Rampside based off Revells VW Vanagon by Dean Milano
  20. I [we] enjoyed having you over, how come when a modeler goes to another model guys house he always has his hands in his pockets?
  21. I won a gift certificate from Chrome-Tech at Toledo this year Billy , I'm trying to get my order in for the first of the year....Robert does fantastic work.. Cal...Chrome Tech usa is 2314 Ravenswood Rd. Madison Wisc visit chrome tech here
  22. CSC must be covered up when your done with it..Andy is correct on the glove thing, its rough on the skin...use smaller containers for the little items...I have the same tupperware container with CSC for almost a year now...
  23. Old movies on TCM or old sitcoms, I'm stuck in the land that time forgot
  24. I have to agree with Harry on this one , you'll never please everyone..I like the magazine as it is but I'm done when I get to the die-cast in the back...I dont hate it , I own my share of it, but it will not entice me to buy more of it. The company I drive for has a sister company that hauls media from the presses to the post offices and another division that handles newstand copies , some big titles have been toying around with the idea of a subscriber only magazine , others an on-line magazine. I pick up my issues of the magazine on the road from hobby shops I buy from across the country to read while I'm away...if I had to subscribe I would , this is my favorite model mag and I never miss an issue..Gregg and Jairus and all contributing writers do a great job , bundled up with this forum its the best 1,2 punch in the business .
