  1. Gleeped. There's a word I haven't heard in ages!Cool project. Please follow through!
  2. Wow... I'm willing to bet a large portion of the replies to this post were hammered out on a foreign sourced computer while wearing sneakers made in, well...that's the point. Our world is changing. Interesting points made by some. Some rude. Some pointless. Bottom line is we like what we like. I recently sold my `74 Dodge Dart 2dr. daily driver I was suffering with. It was Brown metallic w/ tan interior. Nice, clean car that I always received compliments on. But the slant 6 lost quite a few of it's original 90 horses... and the lack of A/C made it miserable in commuter traffic. And the gas mileage was in the 14-17MPG range for mixed driving. As cool as it was to drive an "old" car, I sold it and bought a loaded 2 owner `99 Maxima. A/C, ABS, Cruise, CD-Satellite,Sun Roof,Alloys. Hard to beat. And 22 MPG is a nice step up too. In a year or so I'm sure I'll change it up again, but boy-oh-boy that Maxima is bulletproof.... As for money staying in this country, forget it. Where do you think banks and investment firms spend? All of our investments & 401K's are working a global market (trying to...) make us a profit. No one complains when they receive an annuity or cash out, do they? And yes, I've spent my entire professional career working for foreign businesses. 11 yrs. with Porsche/Audi & the last 20+ yrs. with Nissan/Infiniti. And if you REALLY want to start talking trash about this brand is junk or that counrty whatever, let me state a fact: Infiniti & Nissan assembly cars & trucks in Tennessee. The most problematic models are the stateside vehicles. So bad they stated building the Infiniti QX56 & Nissan Quest back in Japan.... Ouch. We're all in this together. Learn to swim.
  3. After looking at the picture for a minute or two it appears to be built for a heavy load/thrust out back. Those duel rims in back have truck/bus origins. Look at the span of the lug nuts. I bet some type of liquid fuel rocket is going to power this thing.... Wow... the more I look at it, the more I like it.
  4. Pieces of the nose are definitely early VW type II. The rest is just bizarre.... Where did you find this UFO?
  5. My Mom helped me build the Aurora 1/32" Batmobile when I was 7-8.... back in the late 60's. Then I attempted the `67 Olds Toranado...a Pyro Trike...a few aircraft carriers and planes, then settled on cars.
  6. Geeez... first Dime and now Nauti. Our condolences to you & your family. My Wife & myself had to make that decision 3 yrs. ago when our 16yr. old Shepherd/Lab/Terrier mix Angel couldn't out-run her illnesses. Buying new cars...signing a mortgage....getting married.... NOTHING compares to the emotion on making that call. Time will heal and you'll fondly remember Nauti when your future Dog does something to remind you. Happens to us all the time with our recent rescue.
  7. I agree, very tasty combination of colors and parts selection. The Orange & Gun Metal compliment each other nicely, great wheel choice, and the 6Bbl. small block is such a street-friendly performance package. This would make a great 1:1 street machine! Take a bow Mike, you did a great job!
  8. Wow...I own my favorite car! ....although a Hemi would be nice.
  9. About 9 yrs. ago I had an original `65 Dart 2 dr. post. It had 54K original miles, white w/red interior, 6 cyl. & automatic. Perfect, straight, & clean. I sold it as I was starting the Barracuda project and didn't want to feed 2 projects and get nothing done. After seeing this Tempest tonight I wish I still had that Dart....
  10. There are a few aftermarket vendors whom built their businesses on reputation. Aside from Don & Carol Holthaus, Norm Veber from Replicas & Miniatures is another vendor you never have to worry about. On the outside chance there is a delay, your phone will ring or you'll receive an e-mail.
  11. Went to a local cruise tonight in the Whitestone area of Queens and spotted this: 12 bolt rear w/leaf springs and ladder bars. Straight axle cross-steer. Single 4bbl. tunnel rammed big block Chevy. Automatic w/bucket seat interior. By far one of the neatest cars I've seen this year. Too bad we never found the owner of heard it run....
  12. When we rescued our boy in Nov. 2011 I told my wife my Holiday Bonus was going to the shelter. I got surprised, and true to my word, the shelter got surprised when they received it with a Thank You note from Buddy.
  13. Don & Carol run a first rate business and are great people. No need to worry, and the product will be everything you expect it to be.
  14. LOL!Nice build! Very well detailed and yet understated. Beautiful job of a subtle stand-out!
  15. I asked that question a month ago and got crickets...Again, I hope all is well.
  16. Condolences on losing your friend. I can't imagine having a home without a dog, but I hate it when they leave us all too soon. There's days I prefer the company of my dog over people. Give it time and go rescue another. So many in need of homes with people who want them.
  17. In two days I had my order..... and they look great. Thanks again for posting this.
  18. I just bought 2 sets on e-Bay. Thanks for the heads-up! I remember these little guys from my youth also and now they're back!
  19. Wow... sure Trump's my night out. The Pope? That's up there.
  20. Great stuff guys..... I'm having a good laugh. BTW: I heard the watch is 1/64th. scale and made by Palmer....
  21. Very cool progress! Can't wait to see this done.
  22. The box art is similar because it's from Chrysler, not designed by the model companies. The cartoons on the promo boxes are reproductions from Chrysler print ads of the time.
  23. Sorry to hear about his accident. What breed is he? His profile reminds me of my guy.... and I'd do the same if I were in your shoes. I like Dogs better than people some days.... Take care of him. He'll never forget it.
  24. Dude, your nuts.... Where do you get these ideas?!?! I love watching your builds go together and can't wait to see where this goes. Another great idea.
