  1. That is sooooo cool. Awesome work there!!??
  2. Thats beautiful, love the red. I have to say this......I find it interesting how on all 57 Chevy models the hoods don't fit no matter how hard you try to get them to.
  3. Fantastic, probably my favorite Camaro!!!!?
  4. The model is great but good lord, that shop diorama is absolutely awesome!!!!!!
  5. I really appreciate the help guys.?
  6. Thanks Randy......funny, my wife has a cousin Randy Bray, lives in Pensacola?
  7. Looking good. Gotta ask, what do you use to get the surface rust look on the exhaust pipes?
  8. The foilmaster ???? Grrrrrr8 job on my favorite car!!
  9. Hey Joe!! Looking great. I just about have the 98 LS1 TA engine complete. For some reason it just seemed like this engine took a long time to build up. A lot of trimming, filing, sanding for good fit of everything.
  10. I'm also in agreement about the red oxide primer look but would probably have a hard time not putting a color coat......whats your color of choice for this one?
  11. I love it. Having actually owned a 66 SS I appreciate all 66's...... that is a great looking Chevelle Sedan.
  12. That is one great looking car.??
  13. Nicely done John. I see you had the same issue with the hood not sitting flat that I had on my 67 Convertable.
  14. Y'all got me leaning to Tamiya black. Went to Hobby Lobby thinking they sold Tamiya, but they don't. Love the 40% off.
  15. Plastikote used to have a line of automotive paints in real car colors. I had a can and it sprayed beautifully. But unfortunately, don't make it anymore except for generic colors.
  16. Oh, and those are two beautiful models Steven.
  17. Wow Steven, those are nice shiny clear paint jobs. Thanks Guys for your input. A young friend of mine uses Duplicolor paint on his models and they always seem to have pretty heavy orange peel....of course it could just be his application.
  18. Just wondering what all you guys' go to for black rattle can paint on body of cars. I have used mostly Krylon enamel with no clear with pretty good success but wondering if its time to start using actual model spray paint. What ya say??
  19. Question. Being acrylic, will it was off if need be? Wondering if it would ruin the clear plastic after washing it off. Just wondering.
  20. Beautiful job on an iconic NASCAR racer. Davey Allison may he rest in peace was a great guy!!
  21. Thanks Guys for all the kind replies. We have a saying in our household about cars, any color looks good as long as it's black LOL. Nigel, the black was a bit of a challenge to get most of the orange peel out and gotta be real carfull on the excess of raised panel lines. Lately I've taken the simple approach to painting.... rattle can Krylon. And Joe thanks again, on to the TransAm model we've talked about. Of course, since my real car is black, so will the model.
  22. Thanks "Snake". Yep, the fiddly bits were a pain. It started off as a quick and easy build the got a lot slower when the small parts body parts were being put on.
  23. This is the first completed model since joining the forum. It's the 11th model I've built since returning to the hobby 4 years ago. Hope I've done this car justice.
  24. So I assume there is no way to preview a post with the pictures before sending??
