  1. Nice looking build with very clean trim work.
  2. Amazing! I've ever seen one or even heard of a Kurtis. I had a quick look through your WIP, and man, there is a lot of work put into this! and it's certainly paid off, it looks great, beautiful little car. Very nice work.
  3. Just cleaning up some mould lines and test fitting a few parts today. I painted up the wheels I have, and both are pretty much exactly the same. The resin wheels are a bit skinny but have slightly better detail, and the ones from my spares tin have a thicker rim bead and fatter tyres, they're ever so slightly bigger too, so I'm kind of torn between the both.
  4. My youngest son who's eleven asked me if I can get him a kit "like the ones I build" he said, so I showed him a few snap kits and he picked out a DeLorean from Back to The Future. He then asked if I could paint it for him, thinking it's just a few snap parts, I said sure. When I opened the box I was greeted with many parts trees! There is a lot of parts here for a snap kit! so, on top of the two kits I curranty have going I have to paint my sons kit which gives me three projects on the go at once! Lol
  5. I always put on a light coat first. After an hour or two I lay a thicker coat on. The first coat can look a little textured but will cover up nicely after two or three thicker coats. I find three coats is enough with rattle cans. It's best to lay all your coats on in one day, next day at the latest. The paint will find it's level much easier that way so less chance of orange peel, otherwise the layers will cure at different rates as they'll just sit on top of each other rather than bond and cure together.
  6. Thanks, Nigel. It's the same kit as the Joker goon car except the wheels are different. Thanks, Alan. Fun as in a good hour or so carefully masking it and still getting paint bleed, lol! Yes, it sits nice and not too high like a lot of kits do, though the front wheels did stick out too far so had cut the hubs back a bit.
  7. Really nice job on this. I enjoyed watching it come together in WIP, an unbelievable amount of scratch work! It's great to see it complete, all your hard work definitely paid off and it shows. Very nice.
  8. Beautiful looking '57, I like the colour combo. Nice work on the bmf too. It's an enjoyable kit this one, but you're right about the fit of the headlights and hood. I had to do a bit of work on those when I built mine.
  9. I remember Three's Company. We had the British version called "Man About the House" with Sally Thomsett and Paula Wilcox, Paula was my favourite! There was a lot of American and Australian programmes on British TV then, Prisoner Cell Block H, Tour of Duty, Crime Story, and even America's Top 10 with Casey Kasem. We only had four channels back then but there seemed to be always something worth watching.
  10. Yes, very pretty Lass! 60's women, Ooof!!?
  11. oh yes, that's Robert Duvall! I didn't notice at first. I don't know the other names or the shows, I don't think they were ever broadcast here. I did recognise Simon Oakland though, I remember him from Night Stalker putting up with Kolchaks nightly antics, Lol. I loved that show as a kid, it was on every Friday night in the UK around the late 80's early 90's.
  12. I was pretty hooked when I saw the witness unlock the door to the room only to be shot by the hitmen. I felt I was in the dark and figuring out the reason the same time as he investigates the whole thing. When Johnny go's to pick up the letter that never arrived I think it's because the clerk would have been looking at a letter with Renick on it not Ross. So there was in-fact a letter for him, just wrong name, or the mob might have picked them up before Johnny got there revealing where the hideout was. He makes a phone call which should have instructions on the letter, but he never got it, so only half the message was said over the phone. It's a crossed wires scenario. That's just a guess on my part. Still, I really enjoyed the movie, I didn't move my seat.
  13. Nice work on the roof, looks a nightmare to deal with but you got it looking right. Tidy job, I like it.
  14. Thanks guys. It was an enjoyable build.
  15. Thanks guys. I hope to do a NY Taxi from this kit too at some point.
  16. After building the awful MPC Charger I've been thinking about the movie Bullitt. I hadn't seen the film in well over twenty years and the only part I remember about it really was the car chase. I watched it the other night and I honestly forgot how good it was, not just the iconic car chase scene but the story too. What an awesome movie! So, being more than a little inspired, I went ahead and bought the Revell '68 Mustang and Charger! I think I have most of the correct parts to do these now. I have two sets of Torq-Thrust wheels for the Mustang, not sure which ones I'll use yet, I'll paint them up and see which I prefer, and Steve "can-con" on here has kindly sent me out some Dodge Dart wheel covers for the Charger, they're not the same but close enough for me.
  17. Looks amazing, very nicely detailed build! That's one of the things I really like about model building too is the research and what you learn along the way. Since building my first big rig I now know what a wig wag is! haha,
  18. Thanks, John. I've already done a taxi using the '70 Galaxie. I might do a SFPD car from it though.. and possibly a San Francisco Taxi from this Monaco kit:) Yeah, I think I'll do curbside if I build that kit again, same go's for the Monaco.
  19. Cheers, Dave. When I was researching the car I based it off a picture of an original CHP car, I even put the AM radio antenna blanking plug on the front fender. When I research the real car I notice all the inaccuracies in a kit, like the rear lights being from a Plymouth fury, haha. Still, a pretty good kit. Thanks, Gerald. There's some parts that I'm not happy with, like the glue mess around the door mirrors and spot lights, and having to use Molotow on the window frames. It's better from a distance, this is a good three footer I'd say, Lol.
  20. Stunning Bonneville! What a beautiful colour combo. I don't see many of these being built, It's one of my favourite kits. Very nice work.
  21. Thanks, Joe. Slant six for the win :D Thanks, Cliff. Thanks, Anders. It is a pretty horrid kit, though I've since bought another one to do! Glutton for punishment, I think! Lol,
  22. Thanks man:)
  23. Not a bad kit by MPC, nice accessories to make a good looking CHP Monaco and the body and trim is nicely detailed along with a decent looking interior. I changed out the steering wheel that comes with the kit cos it looked way too small. Chassis is very basic with only the rear axle being a separate piece. The hardest part of this build was actually the door mirrors and spot lights. The spotlights look like they were just thrown in with the kit from something else, and just as basic, they don't even have lenses, and the door mirrors have such tinny stems that the lightest touch will knock them off. Nice simple kit, I enjoyed this one.
