Nice sunny day today, but oh boy is it cold out there! Here's some outdoor shots as promised, they're not great but better than the gloomy pictures taken inside.
-
Same camera, just taken by the kitchen window where there is more light.

Thanks, guys. The chocolate wrapper is an idea I picked up from Tulio's YouTube channel. I'll try and take some better shots outside when the weather improves. My camera is useless at taking pictures inside, they come out way too dark and out of focus.

Just finished this 1957 Del Rio wagon by Monogram. Great kit with no fit issues and very clear instructions. Painted in Kingfisher Blue metallic and Bianco Bossa Nova white, interior is the same combo. The gold trim on the side is done with chocolate wrappers with a texture on it. The kit comes with decals for the trim but they're just gold coloured with no texture. There are also decals for the seat inserts but annoyingly only one set and only in green, a colour that clashes with pretty much every other colour you want to do the body except green! So I masked off the seats and painted them that way which is easy enough, there's no complicated curves or separate trim pieces to avoid if doing it this way. So there we have it, excellent kit and very easy to build, although it has a few inaccuracies to the real thing it really makes up for in detail and ease of construction. Highly recommended kit,?

Some very nice work here, I really like the matching front seat mod.

It's Ferrero Rocher, a popular Christmas stocking filler in the UK as they're too flipping expensive to buy as an occasional treat! Luckily there is enough wrappers in them to do lots of cars.

I've built the stock version of this, it's a nice kit. The rear light panel insert needs some work but I can't quite remember what the issue was, I think there are pins on the back of it but no holes in the panel which make it stick out.

Thanks, Jim. Thanks, Guido. Cheers, Geoff. I didn't come up with it, I seen it done on a YouTube video, I think it was Tulio's channel (CCCP Digital Studio) Thanks, David. I wasn't sure on the blue at first being so dark, but the white really brightened it all up nicely.

ah, ok, it's likely the file size then... and my internet, we're in the stone ages where I live when it comes to internet!

Looking really good. These new Nova wagons are very popular. As soon as they turn up in the UK I'll be getting one for sure.

Beautiful, I love these rarely seen builds. Very nice work, and the colour is perfect, looks exactly like the cars parked on the side of the street in pretty much any film from the 70's.

Cheers, guys. Got the glass in last night and done the foiling, did a bit of detailing and clipped it all together, she's done! What a great little kit, no fit issues and very nicely detailed. The back wheel pins did come loose which gave the appearance of collapsed wheel bearings. I couldn't fit them back tightly enough without dismantling the wheel rims from the back of the hubs so decided to permanently glue them to the axle. I didn't use the decals for the gold side trim, instead I used a chocolate wrapper with a texture on it. I'll post more pics in completed section but again the weather is against me so will probably be indoor shots again in front of a picture.

Thought I'd post here instead of starting a new thread. I remember the site went through an update where the pictures now take time to load, that's ok, but has something been changed again? When viewing others posts, the pictures aren't loading at all only one or two if I'm lucky. Anyone else having issues with pictures not loading lately? Might be a problem my end, who knows, but it's been like this for two or three days now.

Thanks, guys. Finished the interior structure today, just the seats left to put in. Of all the newer kits I've built this is probably the nicest one I've worked with, no fit issues, clear instructions, and everything fits together very well.

This one is really fighting you, isn't it?! Looks like you're winning though. Keep pushing, she's looking great,?

Now that's cool! Very different, and great detail too. I like the missing hub cap on the front wheel. Very nice build.

wow, I love it! Fair play, mate, you do some amazing weathering. A couple of the shots look like a real car. Awesome work, very nice.

Beautiful colour.
