  1. Thanks Larry. Hi Peter, when I first saw the 1:1 car, I fell in love with the look and had to try and build something close. Thank you Spike! It is definitely one of my favourite builds. Thank you Paul.
  2. Thank you Bruce ! I really wanted a better photo background, and the parking lot works. Now I just need to take better photos! Hello Mario, I appreciate the kind words. Hi Craig, thank you sir. The van was goofy, but fun. I do plan on doing the “neon tubes” on a future build at som point. Thank you Steve! It was all about having a little fun… I also might have been a Scooby Doo fan. Thanks for the comments guys.
  3. Hi guys, just thought I’d add a few more photos. This truck took a ridiculous amount of time, although to be fair, I just wasn’t at my desk much. Anyhoo, it’s close to done, I will probably add a couple more photos in the next day or two, then get some glamour shots under glass. Thanks for sticking with me lol ? Chassis needs exhaust and a couple of touch ups but is close Thanks as always for having a look. Cheers, Steve
  4. Hello Misha! Well, not quite as cozy as Arizona, but it was a nice Christmas. Thanks for checking in sir, and a Happy new year to you. Hello Phil, believe it or not, this thing is FINALLY (almost) complete. This one put up a good fight…
  5. Hi Greg, great to see this one back on your bench. Excellent details all round. That colour is very period correct looking, was that close to a factory colour?
  6. Hi all, hope everyone had a great Christmas, and I wish you all a safe and happy new year. Thanks for all the great sharing!! I had a bit of an “off” year, but I have several builds that I’m really looking forward to, so definitely ready for 2023. First up the 70.5 Camaro Dutch Boys tribute build.. next up, the Mystery Machine… then the parking lot diorama… and lastly, fresh off the bench, the ‘72 Blazer. Technically, this one isn’t quite finished yet, but I’m hoping you guys will cut me some slack. It’s really close, have a handful of details to add (gas cap, coil, exhaust, air filter…) and a few touch ups. I have a bunch of catching up to do with everyone’s ‘22 builds which I will do over the next few days. Cheers, Steve
  7. Hi Derek, Wow! Yep that’s a pink Caddy. Looking good. I like the idea of purple pearl, although it looks really good as is. I’m guessing this will be down in the weeds based on the rear inner fender removal. Looking forward to seeing how you progress. Cheers, Steve
  8. Great looking build so far Justin. One of my all time favourite body styles. I’ll be following. Cheers, Steve
  9. Hi Phil, I have not been on the forum much and totally missed the WIP on this, I will have a look later. Yet another great tribute/ replica build. You definitely have a knack for picking iconic cars and capturing them in scale. I love that green, my next build is likely going to be green, so I’ve been looking closely at anything green I see. Great build as always, keep ‘‘em coming sir! Cheers, Steve
  10. Hi Frank, I love these types of builds. Should be a fun one to watch. Cheers, Steve
  11. Thanks fellas. Still aiming for finishing before years end. I struggled with motivation this year, but I’m pretty fired up to finish this and get on with the next couple of builds. Steve
  12. This is EXCELLENT news! Welcome aboard Martin. First, congratulations on your recent magazine articles and covers. Even though I have seen that ‘30 Ford in person, it somehow looks even better in print. This is partly your photography, and part seeing it bigger for my failing eyes. Anyone not familiar with Martin’s craftsmanship is in for a real treat. Looking forward to seeing more of your amazing builds, along with the incredible photography. Cheers, Steve
  13. One more update for today. Interior is pretty much complete. Still need to add pedals and I may add a few details and some seat belts. Gauges are from Gofer with photo etch bezels, not the best gauge detail… I made the large shifter from bent wire. It’s intentionally a bit over sized. The turn signal and tilt wheel levers are made from pins with wire insulation on the ends. Thanks for looking!
  14. Grill has been “opened” from behind. Hard to tell in the photo but, the centre grill section was brush painted with aluminum, then the whole piece was treated to two light coats of Tamiya smoke. If you’ve followed my builds you know I like a little smoke here and there… Ironic, as I have been a non smoker my whole life ? More soon!! Cheers, Steve
  15. Paint and foil complete !! Just a few touch ups to do here and there. Also some wax residue in the door grooves to remove. Overall I’m happy with the paint, not my best, but certainly not my worst. The engine is close to complete and is now glued in place. As Greg mentioned waaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back at the beginning of this build, getting exhaust to fit with a big block is a challenge. I have some pro stock headers that fit after removing the bottom of the inner fenders. Not exactly the route I wanted to go, but it will suffice. My goal is a sprint to the finish so I can have it in ‘22 completed project. Yes… I’m probably going to rush the finish on this one. Thanks for looking, Steve
  16. Thanks Greg! Appreciate that Anton. Sorry for the tardy replies guys!
  17. She’s got colour! Foil and decal work is almost complete, I’m aiming for having it cleared and shiny by mid week. Second effort at the paint over foil technique. A little buffing on the letters and I think it should look ok. I used carbon fibre decals between the chrome trim on the lower body molding. I went back and forth between doing it with wood, paint or carbon. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Steve
  18. Making some headway on the interior… The dash isn’t glued in as I still have gauges etc to add. There is a few touch ups to do, but I’m not getting too fussy on this one. The body will get its final coat of Hugger orange today!
  19. They are beautiful decals. I am using some on my current build. They are delicate, and very transparent, but finished result is nice. You have to use a light base colour due to the transparency of them. The end results would no doubt look better in the hands of someone who is more talented at decals than myself…
  20. This turned out really nice Anton. The stance is perfect! I know you went back and forth with wheel choice, these ones suit the build very well. The engine sure fills up underneath the hood, and I like there’s no big scoop, sneaky… As for the grill and headlights, what a huge improvement, the headlights really pop. Great build all round my friend! What was your trick for the dust/static issue, looks beautifully dust free!! Cheers, Steve
  21. I’m in for the ride Dennis. This will be an interesting mashup, as Luke said, you have a knack for wicked kit bash projects. Cheers, Steve
  22. Yes sir! This is coming along. The paint on the wheels sure makes a statement. That stance definitely works, doesn’t look like you had to raise it much. Roger, your paint/colour combinations are often somewhat unusual and always very well done. Funny how a somewhat subdued or even bland colour can really pop, or stand out when in the right hands. Very nice work as usual sir! Cheers, Steve
  23. Francis! Looks like we are all in for another amazing “road trip”, I’m going to pack my bag… Your level of talent and craftsmanship is wayyyyy out of my reach, but it sure is inspiring watching and learning. Really looking forward to watching your progress. Oh… and I see we have the Bluenose dime now?. Cheers, Steve
  24. Beautiful build Derek! As the others have said, that paint job is spectacular. The ‘41 Chev trucks have such an amazing front grill, one of the best IMHO. Great details all round, I have my eye on one of those engines from Iceman. Do they need much clean up? Cheers, Steve
