  1. Really nice Mike. I’ll take the ‘66 Chevelle, and the Poncho as fav’s. Nice group for the year.
  2. Yep, these are both stunning Dennis. I really like your clean build style. Although both are spectacular, the wagon is definitely my fav of the 2. I really enjoyed watching that one come together. Cheers, Steve
  3. What the… man, I missed a bunch this summer/fall. Good looking group of builds there Greg! Tough call between the Camaro and Nova for a favourite. Looking forward to seeing that Blazer of yours complete. Cheers, Steve
  4. All very nice builds Craig. I actually like the 2 trucks the best, but they are all really well done. Cheers, Steve
  5. Hi Randy, thanks for having a look. I have 5 versions of this kit and every one had a badly warped top. I really wanted the top on, so I decided to make it a “hardtop”. The top did require some slight reshaping to fit properly, but fairly simple. Thanks for sharing yours Pete. It looks good all muddied up! Glad you like the colour, I love hugger orange on these. Thanks for the kind words David, much appreciated.
  6. Ah yes, the absent mirrors. I do have the ones from the deserter kit that I am considering modifying to fit. That would fit in the “later” category. I’d sure love to see an all new, modern tooling of these trucks. I know it won’t happen, but a guy can hope… Thanks for for following along on the WIP Greg, I will keep checking in on yours and learn all the things I should have done! My desk is now in total disarray as I accumulate parts and pieces for the next build. Cheers, Steve
  7. Hello fellow builders, Well, I finally finished this one. The kit has several short comings, I addressed the ones that bothered me most, but didn’t get too carried away. The intent was make some improvements, and end up with a decent shelf model. I used the axles, leaf springs, and some other parts from the deserter kit. The tires are Modelhaus, wheels are salvaged from the parts stash, some kit shocks as well as some from the stash. The engine has a resin whipple blower, and some detail was added in the engine compartment. The interior has parts box seats, the console from the deserter kit, wood grain decals, parts box steering wheel, pins were used for turn signal, and tilt wheel levers, added a nav screen. I added side steps from the deserter, grab handles from the stash, made a nav antenna, the grill was opened from behind. Paint is GM Hugger orange with Mr Colour clear. I’m happy with the overall look, but it’s definitely not my best work. It was built over a VERY EXTENDED period of time, so I never really found my groove. All that said, I haven’t built a 4X4 for about 40 years, so I really wanted to do something different. The next build will be back to my usual low!! Thanks for having a look, and thanks again to those that followed along with the WIP and took the time to comment. As usual, all comments welcome. Cheers, Steve
  8. Thanks guys, the Camaro definitely has a “look” to it. It is rewarding that it has been so well received. Cheers , Steve
  9. Thanks Bob, sometimes I just Ike having some fun with a build. This one checked that box! Thank you David! I always appreciate your feed back on my builds. Should have a new WIP starting in about a week… Thanks Anton! Keep our eye out for my next WIP, I think you’ll approve.
  10. Very nice builds David. I’m partial to the ‘67 Chevelle. Awesome to hear about your eye sight, you’ve got me thinking it is time to do something about mine… Look forward to seeing this years creations. Cheers, Steve
  11. Hello Martin !! What a beautiful build. Your builds are so cleanly put together, it is hard to tell they are models. Of course you capture them with amazing photography too. The gold under the hood looks spectacular with the body colour. Awesome to have you on the forum sir. Hopefully see you at a local get together soon. Now let’s see that matte green Jag!! Cheers, Steve
  12. Ok, time to wrap this up!! Calling it complete, although I will add licence plates. I also have a front bush bar from the “Bandit” version of this truck ready to install, but it covered most of the opened grille, so it stays off for now. My original plan was going to be more of a full on off road look, but Greg is doing a much better job on that look than I would. So instead, I went with more of an off road “poser” that would never actually go off road. So enough blabbing, here’s a couple of photos. Thanks as always to those of you that followed along and took the time to comment, it always appreciated! I will have it under glass shortly. Cheers, Steve
  13. ? is how I react to eating liver!
  14. Hi Roger, another superb build sir. Your colour choices are always a bit “different”… and often unusual, but man do they look amazing! The wheels on this one are perfection , and the red stripe gives that little pop. It is quite surprising how much that engine filled the underhood real estate! Great stuff, keep ‘em coming. Happy New Year Cheers , Steve
  15. All very nice builds Spike, but the wide body Camaro really speaks to me…
  16. Hi Bruce, wow, diverse set of builds. My favourite would Chase Elliot’s car, I’m an Elliot fan… Cheers, Steve
  17. Awesome builds, awesome paint, beautiful photography. Very nice Ryan! I’m partial to the black Olds, as I will be building a ‘71 Olds later this year. Cheers, Steve
  18. Hello Claude! Another amazing year in styrene for you my friend. I truly love all your builds sir,(not just this year’s). This year, I have to be honest, a very easy pick for my favourite is the Boothill Express. Wicked cool!! Keep ‘em coming!! Happy New Year Cheers, Steve
  19. Hi Bob, nice group of builds this year. My favourite is definitely the tubbed white Ford truck. Cheers, Steve
  20. 30!!!…… What the heck do you put in your coffee in the morning?! Sheesh. All very nice builds Bill. Quantity AND quality, very nice.
  21. Both great looking builds Anton! I think I like the Olds just a little bit better, but only due to it being so rare. I do not understand why the model companies have not done a modern kit of these. The 1500 truck is a beautiful beast. Happy new year my friend.
  22. Great looking builds Pierre. Cheers, Steve
  23. Thanks Chris. Hi Bill, it was fairly simple, I think the key is finding what product works for replicating asphalt (or concrete). Everyone’s eye is a little different… Hello Carl! Always good to hear from you my friend. I’m hoping for a slightly more productive year this year, we’ll see how that goes. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to comment. I haven’t been on the forum much since spring, but I’m recharged and ready for 2023. We have a wonderful group of very talented builders here. I look forward to more learning and sharing, thank you all. Cheers, Steve
  24. Hi Roger!! Thank you sir, very much appreciated. As mentioned above, one of my favourite builds. I still have a soft spot for my 66 Olds “Ol Comino though… I think you might be interested in my next build, hoping to start a WIP soon. Cheers Thanks Tom, as a first diorama I’m fairly pleased. It’s relatively simple, and it combines my model hoody, with my landscaping hobby. I thought the pavement turned out decent. Thank you Oliver, much appreciated Thank you Bill Hello Phil ! The year started strong then kind of fizzled a bit. I’ve got some good projects brewing in my head for this year. I’ll get that Blazer finished up then back to some pro touring builds. I also have a replica build planned for this year that I’m really excited about. Take care and happy new year.
