  1. Hi Steve, great looking paint! So in the pictures it looks purple-ish in one shot, totally blue in the other. I assume it’s more blue than purple. “Both” colours look fantastic, and smooooth. I’m lucky to get them that smooth AFTER polishing…. Cheers, Steve
  2. Hi Jeremy, I have a set of centrelines somewhere too, but like Greg, can’t remember where from. I think maybe an old gasser Vette? May I suggest putting the picture in the “questions” area. Someone will have an answer for you I’m sure. Seems that it shouldn’t be too hard to find a set. Nice fixes on the fitment issues! Cheers, Steve
  3. These are my favourite type of build, ones with a meaningful back story. I’ve done a few, and even if they aren’t my best builds, they hold a special place in my heart. I will definitely be watching Jeremy, and I’m certain you will do a great job. I look forward to hearing about the reaction you get from your friend when he sees it. Those wheels should be reasonably easy to find, hard to tell in the photo, is it burgundy? Have fun with it!! Cheers, Steve
  4. Hi guys, I’ve had a few “little” set backs… First, I strained my back quite bad, a week later my wife got bucked off her horse and tore her knee up. Waiting for word on a surgery date for my wife. It’s been a stressful, busy few weeks, but things are improving. So… finally got some desk time yesterday and today. Not a lot to show for the time I put in, but still progress. I wasn’t happy with how the dash turned out, so… I cut it apart again then widened the cut to get the nav screen closer to the centre of the dash. I also made some adjustments to the nav screen. Sliced the back and changed the angle for a better fit in the dash. With the dash back together, it was time to get the centre console built. I didn’t count how many pieces of styrene went into this but it was lots. I feel like there must have been an easier way to get from A to B, but it’s close to done now. There is still a bit of detail work to do on the console, and some fine tuning on the dash and console. That said, the heavy lifting on both parts is done. I knew going in, that these two pieces would be a challenge for me. The door cards are almost complete. I hope to get all these parts fine tuned and primed this week. Thats it for now…
  5. Really liking this one Mark. Pretty much anything with tubs turns my crank, but I like the unusual stuff. I’ll be following along. Cheers, Steve
  6. Hi Bart, have a look at “Evan’s Designs”, they have all sorts of fantastic lighting. The site has a lot of very useful ideas and tips, and the service I had in my two purchases from them was top shelf. Cheers, Steve
  7. Hello Claude! You never disappoint sir. Long, smooth, and low, what a work of art. My favourite photo is the straight on front view showing the mirrored panel below the grill. Beautifully executed build as usual Claude, I’m having nightmares thinking about the fitment of the body, there’s a lot of work there… Thanks for sharing another masterpiece from the house of Claude. Cheers, Steve
  8. Hi Luke. I’m pretty sure I have never seen a 60’s Camaro lowrider, and man… it looks cool!! The Stang looks good too, it I’m more of a GM guy… Great stuff as always sir. Cheers, Steve
  9. Looking good Derek! I’m all in with the cassette player, love it. Interior looks really nice ?. Cheers, Steve
  10. Very nicely done Jason, thanks for the reply. Wheels look ? Cheers, Steve
  11. Hi Bob, love this one so far! I have this kit in the stash, and thought I would do a similar build to this one day. I’ll be watching sir. Question, are the wheels/tires from Texas 3d? Did you try CA glue with kicker on the tubs, I would think that might work? Maybe do that on the outside seam as reinforcement? Looks good, keep up the good work. Cheers, Steve
  12. Hi Jason, beautiful Chevelle indeed. One of my all time favourite body styles. (I’m biased being the owner of a ‘67 Beaumont) May I ask where you sourced the tires and wheels? Hard to tell in the photos, but tires look like BF Goodrich TA’s ? The deep offset rallye wheels are beautifully done. I plan a replica of my car one day, and I am looking at sourcing some TA’s, and good, deep dish rallye wheels with those centre caps. Thanks in advance, and again, absolutely beautiful build. Cheers, Steve
  13. Thanks Ron, I appreciate your comments.
  14. Turned out awesome Dave! Really cool subject and very well executed. The whole thing is well done , but that seat is brilliant. Cheers, Steve
  15. Hi Dave, a question if I may. How did you do the crack in the windshield? My guess is back edge of a #11 blade, maybe a small drill bit for the “impact” but not all the way thru? I have thought of trying this, but wasn’t sure how real it would look. Your technique looks absolutely perfect, nicely done. And that seat… Very nice details. I will watch for this under glass.
  16. Really cool project Mark, that cab looks the part. I like the idea of dropping the front down a bit more. You could cheat and trim a little off the top of the tires… Just my opinion, I like my builds to sit low. Cheers, Steve
  17. Looking good so far Steve.
  18. Spicy Mustard indeed! I like these little trucks. I bought one about a year ago, this has me looking forward to building it.
  19. Greetings from the “wet” coast Devin, and welcome aboard. Great looking ‘59, I did a very similar build a while back, love those horizontal fins.
  20. Hi Ricky, thanks for the kind words. Hopefully I can give you some decent ideas worth stealing. I plan on pushing myself a bit on this one. We’ll see how it turns out… Thanks for taking the time to comment. I will keep an eye out for your build, it sounds Rey interesting. Cheers, Steve
  21. Hi Claude! I was hoping you’d swing by and have a look. Yep, that blue Caddy Mr. Airio built left an impression on me, all of his builds were extremely nice, but that was one of my favs. I saw your build on one of the other Caddy threads, very nice as usual sir. It’s fun having three of these going at the same time, I thought they were rare!!! Thanks for checking in, always good to hear from you Claude.
  22. Today was dash surgery day Again the plan is to blend the modern dash with nav screen to the “stock” Caddy dash. first, I wanted to save the beautiful centre heat vents for possible re-use later. Then prep for two parallel cuts to remove about 3.5 mm from the centre of the Caddy dash, and remove the right side of dash. Then re-attach the “wing” back to the dash. Add filler piece… Then a quick mock with the new centre piece I still have LOTS of cleanup and fine tuning to do, but so far I think it will work ok. I probably could have gone another 1mm wider, but I was worried that it might look too wide. Hoping to have this cleaned up tomorrow. More soon. Cheers, Steve
  23. Nice progress Ismo. That engine is all business, a big car with big power!
  24. Excellent!! I will be watching Steve. Good to see these old Caddy’s being built. Cheers, Steve
