  1. Thanks for all the kind words guys. Much appreciated. This was a fun build. The metallic paint with flat clear does give a cool iridescence. Cheers, Steve
  2. I KNOW, RIGHT !!!! Gotta mix it up a bit...
  3. Hmmmm, I think... they are 15’s. The rear wheels are the steel units from AMT 72 Blazer. As I recall, I did not need to modify, if I did it was not much. Regardless, I’m sure you won’t have a hard time finding wheels to fit. They are awesome, I highly recommend buying some. They made me smile when I got them, they were so big. Cheers, Steve
  4. Welcome back Phil !!
  5. You bet! Time for a surfin safari.... wel, maybe just a surfin cruise. Cheers, Steve
  6. Hi James, thanks for the kind words. That was my first time working with wood on a model. I gave it a light stain, tried to give it a bit of a used look without going overboard. The tires are resin units from Modelhaus. I got them before they initially retired, however I believe they are now making tires again. I quick search would confirm that. If you can get some I highly recommend it, they’re awesome. I have the next size down too, not sure what they will end up on yet...
  7. This is based on the Revell 32 Ford kit. It has been channeled, and lowered. I wanted a motor with “presence”, so I went with the DOHC 426 hemi and added ignition wires and fuel lines. Parts box surf board and fabricated roof rack. Paint is Dupli Colour metallic blue with flat clear, surf board is same colour with gloss clear. Also added parts box wheels and tires. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.
  8. Thanks Gerald, appreciate the info
  9. Dax, this truck is awesome!!! My mind doesn't work like that, but I wish it did. Fantastic imagination, and even better execution. Looks perfectly drivable. Cheers, Steve
  10. Hi Lorne, beautiful build! That is a stunning little truck, amazing workmanship. Very inspiring, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve
  11. Yes indeed Claude, I quite enjoy my car collection. Albeit very small cars. Building a $60,000-$100,000 car... for $60- $100 dollars is a rewarding hobby. Your builds are very inspiring, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve
  12. Very cool build Claude. I'm a Chevy fan, and recently have realized that I love El Camino's. Phantom cars are always fun. Cheers, Steve
  13. I will buy one of these. That is just a fun looking truck. Well built, and love the colour choice. It's always fun building something that has a personal connection. I built a Vespa scooter for my mom recently, one of my favourite builds. Cheers, Steve
  14. Hi Gerald, beautiful Blazer. I like em low. Two questions: what colour did you use on interior, it looks perfect, and was your canopy warped? If so, what technique did you use to straighten, hot water? I've had three of these kits and all had warped canopies... Beautiful build, I really like it. Cheers, Steve
  15. Gary, your paint work is absolutely phenomenal! I really like the old 70's custom vans. Very nicely done. Cheers, Steve
  16. Very cool combo, love the colour choice. Nice clean builds. Cheers, Steve
  17. Gerald, this speaks to me. Ride height is perfect, love the wide whites, interior, it's all very nice. Makes me want to try one of those "thread" seat covers. Elmers white glue for the thread on the seat ? Cheers, Steve
  18. Hi Mark, realistic weathering is VERY difficult to accomplish. You nailed it! Dents, rust, absolutely love the seat ( wouldn't want to sit on it though!) very nicely done. Makes me want to do another "beater" Cheers, Steve
  19. Hi Guido, wheels came from an old MPC Corvette gasser, tires were parts box. They may have come in other kits too. Can’t recall origin of tires. Cheers, Steve
  20. Hi Roger, thanks for the kind words. confession time... despite a lot of test fitting, when it came to final assembly, the hood would not quite close. Sanded as much as I could inside hood, still not quite. So that’s a bit embarrassing... thus, hood stays off to show the motor.
  21. If you are a car modeller, you HAVE to be patient. Your English is awesome, I assure you it's 1000 times better than my French!! This certainly is a wonderful place to share and learn.
  22. Hi all, Not much desk time, but a small update. Managed to get most of the driver side door done, inside and out. In the photo, before mods on left, after on right. On the modified inner door, there will be power window/lock switches once complete. Had to add some styrene strips on inside of inner door panels to thicken them to make room for hinges. Hoping to have time this week to get passenger side done, then, prime/sand, prime/sand... Thanks for your interest. Cheers, Steve
  23. Francis, this is a truly remarkable build. A work of art for sure. REALLY looking forward to seeing it complete. Colour choice?? Please share some more of your builds! I've seen a few in the magazines over the years, as I said before, I'm a fan. Cheers, Steve
  24. Francis, I will keep my eyes open for your twin turbo build. Already know it will be a killer motor. Thanks for your kind words sir! I gotta say, I love how your French accent is ever so subtly noticeable in your typing. Now I need to scoot over to check out your Dodge truck! Cheers Steve
