  1. Take care down there, be safe.
  2. Hi Dax, I have only seen 3 of your builds. They are all fantastic! I wish my brain worked like that, so inventive and creative. They all look like they would work, I’m with Garett, it looks like if history took a few turns, that would be it. I will dig in to find more of your builds, keep em coming. Cheers, Steve
  3. Marty, WOW!!! I love this build. I don’t even like the turbine car and I still love it. Slick and somewhat subtle. Perfect stance, awesome wheel/tire choice, and perfect colour. I might want to build one now. Cheers, Steve
  4. Hi Dennis, what a beauty !! Very nice hot rod indeed, very clean build. I hope you are nowhere near the fires down there, we are getting the smoke all the way up here in the Pacific Northwest. Cheers, Steve
  5. Hi Gary, what a combo! As Francis said, your paint jobs are always absolutely stunning. Love the fender flares, makes a big difference to the look of the truck. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve

Hi Roger, love this. Very nice build sir. I am still a big fan of anything tubbed, the stance is perfect, excellent colour choice. Cheers, Steve
  7. Hi Scott, beautiful build. Very clean, with well done details, looks great. Looks like a factory colour to me. Cheers, Steve
  8. Adam, very nice model. That is some spectacular weathering, I need one of those trucks....or cars....what is it??
  9. I’m with you on that....
  10. Jim, I love the tall Tee, however, I’m starting to like your sense of humour almost as much! Almost... Keeping the hobby fun while building really cool stuff, awesome! I think that colour will be outstanding. cheers, Steve
  11. Thanks so much for all the kind words guys. This is definitely one of my favourite builds. It was very rewarding to share it with him, and yes he loved it. We had some fun family road trips in the car.
  12. Francis, your builds are amazing. Inside out, upside down, right side round. You have set the bar VERY high. Your talent and passion for the hobby shine thru in every part of your magnificent cars. Thank you so much for sharing! It really does look like you could turn the key and flash that elephant up... May I ask where you source your scale nuts and bolts? Cheers, Steve
  13. Hi Nigel, he kept the car til ‘79, it was then given to my brother when he turned 16. (I am 5 years younger) My brother had it for another 5 years or so. He put a 350 in it and painted it a similar but darker shade of metallic blue. I may replicate that car in the future too. Thanks for looking, Steve
  14. Thank you Misha. I suppose most of us got our passion for cars from our dads. It was a project that had been in my head for a long time before I finally built it. Cheers, Steve
  15. Hi guys, I love old Chev trucks and wanted a shop truck for my display case. The body is channeled over the chassis and suspension lowered. The 409 came from a ‘62 Impala kit with the Offenhauser valve covers. I added ignition wires and fuel line. The interior has bucket seats, console, and a sub woofer. Exhaust exits thru the body, and nope... no mufflers. I made a rubber bed mat from some thin rubber to protect the precious cargo. Wheels are parts box GM rallye wheels with parts box tires. For the rear tires, I used two tires cut and glued together to get the width I wanted. Paint is charcoal grey with flat clear, roof is dark blue with patina and gloss clear. Decals are from the ‘41 Chev truck with some bullet holes. Thanks for looking, comments welcome. Cheers, Steve
  16. Hi all, this is a replica of the only car my dad ever bought new. This is about as close to a box sock build as I get. I swapped out the 409 four speed for a 283 automatic, and added some basic wiring for the motor. Added a column shift with scratch built gear indicator on top of steering column. The paint is dupli colour touch up paint in the exact colour of my dads car. The kit supplied the decal for seat pattern. I was born in Long Beach California, so the license plates are same vintage as originals on dads real car. This is one of my favourite builds, I gave it to my dad about a year before he passed away. I was thrilled when the car made the 2015 contest cars issue which my dad saw before he passed. What a wonderful tribute to have for my dad. He started me in the hobby, and gave me my passion for cars. He was not mechanical, nor am I, he just loved cars, and so do I. Thanks for looking Cheers, Steve
  17. Hi Larry, very glad to hear that you are on board. With “the other magazine” stopping print, I sincerely hope it all works out. From what I can tell, there is definitely a need, and want for MCM to succeed. I certainly look forward to supporting the magazine. It seems to me that all on this forum are in support. I think I speak for all here, we wish you well!! Bring on the mags! My 2 cents, 2 contest issues a year, although this past year.... yikes. cheers, Steve
  18. Hi Luke, I have been thinking about buying one of these trucks to do something similar to what you have done. Now, I have to buy one! Super cool build, and very well executed. I wasn’t aware of the wide body kit, that’s a game changer. I have a Subaru Brat that I also want to do in a similar way, might start with that... Thanks for the inspiration, and sharing a very nice build. Cheers, Steve
  19. Really nice work Jim. This is a cool build.
  20. Hi Claude, another beautiful build. Your “simple” builds are equally as stunning as most full detail builds. As a guy who “likes Em low”, I love it. Colour choice is perfect, thanks for sharing the recipe. I have a Modelhaus ‘60 olds that I am going to do with a similar stance to that and it was going to be pearl white. I now have the perfect recipe!!! Thanks! Cheers, Steve P.S. You’re making us all look bad, your turning out amazing builds at an alarming rate! I need to hunker down at my desk today...
  21. Hi Francis, your pickup is going to be waaaayyyyyy beyond anything I could build. Your skills, and craftsmanship are outstanding. Thanks for the compliments, and if it gave you an idea, or tempted you, I’m very humbled. Cheers, Steve
  22. Robert, I have a ‘40 Ford waiting in the wings. I’m inspired, very nice build. Both are very well done. Cheers, Steve
  23. Hi Dennis, thanks for the comments. When I brain stormed the build, the first thought was... it needs to be much shorter. Funny, I’ve always thought that “wheels, tires, and stance” are everything. The paint was a fun experiment, and has been well received. Thanks again. Cheers, Steve
  24. Hi Claude, soooo... that thing is super cool!!!! I have seen a couple of mini van customs, they were all cool, however, this one makes me want to dive in! I love it. All your builds are spectacular, and all over the map, which is even more cool. Thanks for sharing, I see a mini van in my future... Cheers, Steve
