  1. In short, I build cars that I am relieved not to have to own. The only dream car I have, a 32 high boy, I will probably never build. I can revel in dents, surface rust and worn tires without having to deal with the consequences. The feeling of being free from responsibility is wonderful.
  2. Absolutely spot-on choice of tires and rims.
  3. So, now I have tried to get the plastic pieces together to my 34 coupe. The in line six in the AMT 51 Chevy was a bit crooked so instead of working on it I made my own engine block which at least is perpendicular, "the clutch" is an old Monogram rim and a part from the 51 air cleaner. The ribs on the liftgate are a pair of valve covers from an AMT Corvette. What do you say, can this pass as an in line 6 with Fisher Cross flow head ?

  5. North West Short Lines the Chopper II. Cost as 1.5-2 kit type Round2 but earned back on reduced waste Plasticard. It is not childproof, but in most ways safer than the #11 or loose razor blade. Highly recommended.
  6. Thanks I had forgotten about Mexico, those years I was confused by love. I am blessed with a merchant who indicates years as on wines. The day the supply of AMT runs out like Jo-Han, I will have to look for old MONOGRAM. To be honest, I really like Round2 and Moebius but it is really a nice feeling to open an old kit.
  7. What year did AMT move production to China ? Was this done in one step or was it a gradual process? I find a little ridiculous satisfaction in building kits with a little Made in USA on the runners.
  8. Nice I will return to TROG as soon as I have built some more on my Ford van, the team must have a tow car. My 34 currently has an injected straight Chevrolet 6 with Fisher cross flow top. We'll see if the team gets the pieces together for the race.
  9. Yes soft plasticard promos Made By Stahlberg In Finland Aside from the soft plastic they were as we say at MCF correct.
  10. I think that you can start whit a Bburago 1/27 scale SAAB diecast toy.
  11. Many thanks I will come back with some pictures during the week and some questions. I think the AMT valve cover looks strange. //Ulf
  12. Hi Tim Did you find a picture? Now it's my turn to pull what little hair I have left, I really want an injection engine in my TROG project. //Ulf
  13. I had to measure out three points for screws on Moon caps, my goodness how difficult. A colleague CAD drew this picture that I intended to print with the circles as a guide so that the cap was centered but it was actually easier to save the picture in my smartphone, set up the brightness on the Smartphone and put the Moon cap on the screen. I checked that the image/circle was correct on the screen with a circle template.
  14. 42 kits, two 1/24, the rest 1/25, mainly AMT. Some will be merged into one car, at least five maybe ten will be finished this year, the rest will take me ten years to build and that feels good. Since I can only paint on one of the sites I'm building on, it's a bit jerky. edit: 43..
  15. What type of fork do you want to build, telescop, springer or girder? If I may be curious, which kit are you building ? Some have managed to solder brass profiles, a watchmaker's job, I have before digital time extended a Revell Electra Glide fork with Plasticard or if it was sprues ?? which I let a friend turn to the right dimension.
  16. The Ford pickup, the firat time I've considered ordering a dozen or at least half a dozen.
  17. Ok, if that's what it takes then. I've been pretty aggressive about scrap boxes since I restarted during the pandemic thankfully. Now it paid off, AMT slicks and front tires, AMT 49 Ford rear rims, Revell I don't know which kit AND AMT 62 Corvette wheel backs the wrong way plus Moon caps from AMT 25 Ford, phew
  18. I really like your build. From the days when a Monster Truck could be tasteful. Bob Chandler was our hero back then.
  19. Interesting question It made me wonder if you could set up four tires in the lathe and cut them with a scalpel much like in the pictures, four normal tires could be two narrow and two wide held together by the rims.
  20. Admirably disciplined, it took me a while to figure out what that custom grill was in the left corner.
  21. Like this ? On the street in rain, not on grass or in a museum, unbeliviable cool.
  22. http://rekordwagen.blogspot.com/?m=1 It’s so cool and I can't even think of anything else to write, just click and enjoy. Of course it would be great if Tamiya made a kit. ?
  23. Exakt, thats what I ment.
  24. There has been at least one 30-32 Ford hot rod sporting a Volvo 1,8 l B18 in Sweden, one of the resin 1/24 from Tradera* straight mounted ? *Swedens EBay
