  1. Sometimes it is easier to glue a piece of styrene onto the resin part, process it(putty and sanding) and then glue it in place styrene against styrene.
  2. No, I can hardly believe it. I was very happy with the Pontiac (looking forward to one with a roof, please), but an old Mack is really as much fun as it is unexpected.
  3. This kit and it’s design looks fantastic and suits me perfectly, except for the hole in the roof, but every build needs at least one challenge.
  4. Fantastic work, I admire not only your work but also your ability to resist any temptations and pressure to cut more while you're at it. Very tasteful.
  5. Let's hope for an eBay edition. https://bringatrailer.com/2008/11/07/long-lost-racer-1963-pontiac-lemans-super-duty/
  6. Since the opportunity exists, my answer is w i t h . Perhaps even as in the picture, see the right front fender, that has always been my favorite, he didn’t want to weld a nice no rust Ford fender.
  7. A sanding job that really takes some effort. I actually bought a new kit and put in quite a bit of work, but played it safe with a matte gold flake on the roof.
  8. How is the roof on your kit ? I didn't notice that my kits roof was wavy until I applied the clear gloss varnish…. The waves on the outside followed the folds of the inside.
  9. Yes, we attended a very interesting lecture (for retirees) on AI last week, and I tested a few images. With a reasonable picture, you can at best get an indication of whether you are on the right track. See the starting point. I asked for a picture of a Tamiya box with a gray metallic 987 Boxster and added a bad picture of myself, and it could become a hackneyed series in threads about box art, so I'm NOT posting it.
  10. There's a lot going on around me, but I tried CHATGPT for the first time anyway, and it was inspiring. Many things have been checked off the to-do list, and soon it will be the 34. Even though mine won't turn out this nice, it was fun. The only instruction I wrote was light blue at an American airfield in the 1950s.
  11. Wonderful thread with great pictures, like an advanced course in how to rationally and precisely build AMT/MPC kits that lack localization points. Very informative, MCF at its best, Thanks !
  12. Wow, that body modification turned out great. Your car could have passed for a box stock AMT build if I hadn't read the text.
  13. Why, why, why didn't I buy this earlier? It's so incredibly good that I'm considering having it bound in hardcover.
  14. If Round2 made a “Craftsman” and developed a new tool for coupe and roadster bodies combined with the Tudor and Victoria chassis, they would probably have a winner. I have a 1932 coupe from 1975 that will one day become my right-hand drive JAGO fiberglass 32 and that body has its charm but also certain shortcomings.
  15. Very nice build, good job. Admit that you now understand and respect the fascination with Jo-Han ? Despite its relative simplicity, the form is perfect. The silver look great.
  16. I wish you all the strength you need for your rehabilitation. In the meantime, I’ll scroll through your thread for inspiration.
  17. Of course, my phone is full of dreams. Today, I saw my role model, so I went home and grabbed the project, my folding rule, and my phone.
  18. I kept my eyes peeled and spotted my role model on my way home from the gym, so I went home and grabbed my projectt, phone and a folding rule. The crew took the time to stop for a few minutes (thanks!), so I was able to take some measurements. The next step will be to glue together a mock-up and go to the company outside the city to check the proportions in peace and quiet.
  19. Fantastic build. Thank you for showing how you corrected the much-discussed height of the windshield. I have a coupe lying around that will get the same treatment one day.
  20. Nice build! Very creative kit bashing, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
  21. Time well spent, working away requires discipline. Model building helps, I have even brought kits, parts with me to overnight conferences.
  22. Perfect stance, I really like the front height.

    70 Chevelle

    It looks mean.
  24. Super clean, this must be the finest AMT 39-40 Ford ever, sharp.
  25. There is a build somewhere online featuring a 1937 Chevrolet coupe with a chopped roof from AMT's 3 window 1936 Ford. I seem to recall that it was jet-powered, but regardless of the propulsion, the Ford roof was a perfect fit.
