Incredibly stylish and tasteful, you have also integrated Parts by Park's aluminum discs perfectly in(not on) the build. -
AMT 70 1/2 Camaro headlight bezel repair?
Ulf replied to atomicholiday's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This kit made me realize several things; 1. what does a 70 Camaro really look like, I was actually a little surprised when I looked closely at pictures. Pictures of spare parts on wwww are often good to look at. 2. this kit will have to wait a while, it's been three years now. Honestly, I think it is easier to succeed in sanding off mold lines and possibly filling if you first apply a very thin layer of primer. It’s easyer to see whit some primer on. -
Hello Pierre This thread and your post interests me a lot, are you able to share any tips? For various reasons I have not been able to use my airbrush since the summer but the need to build is stronger than ever, in addition, the range of colors is not what it has been so I have bought a lot of Vallejo colors, read, watched Youtube, tested and tested again and a brief summary of the status today is that I'm starting to get a picture, a feeling for how to do and what materials are needed, the visits to the hobby shop were a bit like switching from 110 to 230 volts. Everything is new in the painting dep. wetpalette, great so that you have some wet paint left to improve with hours later. Paint shaker, indispensable because the colors become absolutely wonderful by 20 seconds of shaking. Stainless steel balls to put in the paint cans. Vallejo primer, these are polyurethane based and much more durable than the colors, a thin layer is enough, these primers are available in colors which is good as the colors are a little transparent which in turn gives the opportunity to pre shade. Vallejo paint and clear coat. Vallejo clear coat polyurethane, these are just like the primer more durable. Vallejo airbrush thinner. now, some parts are in soaking in the bath as the clearcoat could not be thinned with water, which was not visible until it dried, test test and test again ... So to what was most difficult to understand without Youtube, you do not brush out the color like Humbrol but rather apply quite fluidly with the brush so the color levels out and it dries quickly. The brush is not as important as you might think, not like painting whit enamels. There are more videos whit handpainting(not brush) gunpla’s(WHAT is that ??) than 1/25 cars on Youtube. Next up for my training is a one colour tank model kit. Yes, acrylics are fragile but it’s better after a few weeks drying and as always, if you want to remove the paint, it sit rockhard.

Wow, how good it turned out. This kit really has the right rims, in real life the type of rims is sensitive on these BMWs.

Correct, a Sonett III 1970-74 Sonett is actually written Sånätt in correct Swedish, Sodainty, Sosmall -
From my own point of view, when I was a child I dreamed of top of the line. Now that I am of age I like the understated, four doors, some chrome, small hubcaps, even small engine. Pickup kits give room to build that style actually, Moebius in particular. I think today there is a bigger market for four-door kits than there was in the 70s and 80s when what was released time and time again was brought out. Revell has in modern times made some 55-57 Chevrolet not ht.

CA-glue-induced severe cracking of polystyrene
Ulf replied to robdebie's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Over the last thirty years in my work/professional life (which ends today) I have met several professional modelers, house models were built almost exclusively with cardboard for several reasons, cheap, easy to work whit. House models are unpleasantly expensive and the consequences of a house model failing can be great in terms of being shown to the CEO, board and investors. Reactions with different adhesives are another problem that makes the professional modelers often use cardboard and white glue. I have picked up some knowledge over the years and what they really pointed out is the importance of not letting unpainted styrene lie in the sunlight year after year in the workshop, in addition to the importance of buying quality (styrene flakes and profiles) and getting to know the materials and adhesives you use. Any cavities must be ventilated so that solvents do not become trapped, this is especially true of small ones, the construction must be solid and also without too much tension, shape, fit in and glue with as little glue as possible, I always use Revell's pipe glue. -
Nice, Z3 is a car that I appreciate more today than when it came which is completely in line with my personality... It will be fun to follow your build. English as a native or not, I use Deeptranslate and it works well for me(Swedish/English). What is really worth mentioning is that I not only had fun reading on the forum, learned a lot about modeling but also developed my reading comprehension by reading American everyday English which has been incredibly fun. Nice, I really like the textile feel of the cockpit, I have a 987 and it's very cozy, probably wouldn't last long without that sound deadening.

Interestingly, Capris have a place close to my heart as does the contemporary Escort.

The window glass rattled, exhilarating. If it wasn't for the fact that we were waiting to go to the vet (all went well) this would have been a perfect day for model building, an inch rain. -
Look great !

Airbrush Vallejo Air and brush paint over the lights ? I think that with clear coat over it is not possible to see a difference provided that you put enough paint on the body so that the color becomes solid. Vallejo Air is good to brush paint which I have not succeeded with, for example, Tamiya.

NHRA drag car they sponsor on display out in front of the Revells main building 1973 or 74. Fate gave me this movie in the Youtube lottery, eight views in three days is far too little so I spread it further on MCF.

A five wheeler, that’s high class. Using the Columbia 2SPD Overdrive impress me also, this build is real nice.

It is difficult with these 32s, they have been rebuilt and unimaginable many new ones have been built with fiber glass and newly made sheet metal bodies. What did they really look like from the beginning? I photographed a hiboy with original sheet metal body in the 90s, the owner had been very careful not to transform the body and the backrest was not against the body for example.

I find the spare tire tub very interesting, early editions of AMT's 32 roadster have 5 or 6 wheel fenders. It’s a four cylinder car.

I have saved some pictures of the underside of an original car from the web but I am a little hesitant to post these, English is not my mother tongue so trying to read what applies is no idea.

Exciting, all the world's modelers deserve an easy-to-build state of the art stock 32 Ford ? I made a quick sketch of the tool that I told you about in previous posts. The white rectangle is the frame rail in profile and the tool is the steel gray. The frame that I was shown was certainly not milled out but the small edge really gave effect, an illusion of an open C profile.

Very interesting, good pictures. A gentleman in the same town as me backdated a Revell frame 25 years ago with parts from AMT's Victoria chassis, it became very weak so he glued the body floor into the frame a bit against his original idea. He shaped the side of a hobby knife blade and managed to drag it along the inside of the frame rails to give the illusion that the frame was not boxed. A very nice build in the end which unfortunately has only been shown at a vintage car club. I tried to buy one of the front axles that he cast in silver but unfortunately I did not get it.

The 5 lug rims and tires look look good, a bit too good for a trailer(read kitbash).

Ford 34, a street hot rod who did not reach the finish line
Ulf replied to Ulf's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm so glad you asked, it warms my heart. The situation is that many things that have stood in the way of model building, are almost over in the days including that our beloved cat had her last teeth removed and is doing well again. I will come back with updates shortly if everyone is healthy. I have cheated a little with some other low ambition projects in the summer cottage during the summer. status as I write this:
