  1. Despite the fact that it is 1:35 scale and military car, I post this. Last in the text below from the manufacturer says something that stands out, ”As a bonus, this model kit also includes 4 off-road wheels for those who want to build a more modern civilian vehicle”. Almost 40 years ago, my childhood friend and I bought one from the defense sale, had fun, drove in the woods and learned a lot before motorcycles and life took over. The off-road capabilities and durability were impressive, the differentials could be locked with a knob on the dashboard (vacuum). We fantasized about V8, 44 inch wheels and winch but for my part it newer happend. I have looked over the shoulder in on a kit in the hobby shop and what I saw looked good. P The kit is 3D designed. Volvo TP21, also known as the "Volvo Sugga" or "Raptgb 915," is a military vehicle produced by Volvo between 1953 and 1958. The TP21 was known for its robust design and off‑road capabilities, making it suitable for various military applications. The vehicle was equipped with a 3.67‑liter inline‑six side‑valve engine, which contributed to its reliability and performance in challenging terrains. The engine, featuring a side‑valve configuration, was known for its simplicity and durability, making it wellsuited for military use. The TP21 also featured a four‑wheel‑drive system, enhancing its off‑road capabilities. The nickname "Sugga," meaning "sow" in Swedish, reflects its sturdy and somewhat bulky appearance. Over the production period, approximately 720 units of the Volvo TP21 were manufactured. The TP21 was utilized by different branches of the Swedish military, including the Army, the Air Force, and the Coastal Artillery. Its primary role was in the signal corps, where it functioned as a mobile radio command post, facilitating communications in various military operations.Over the years, the Volvo TP21 has gained a reputation among military vehicle enthusiasts and collectors for its unique design and historical significance. As a bonus, this model kit also includes 4 off‑road wheels for those who want to build a more modern civilian vehicle.
  2. Kit without engine is ok for me provided that it is possible to put in an engine, loose bonnet and hole in the chassis as in AMTs. A loose bonnet is more important than you first think because some cars have a rather intricate shape on the bonnet that is difficult to scrape up afterwards.
  3. Wow wow wow, it is a considerable achievement to just glue such a kit together, to also perform as you have done is amazing.
  4. Tamiya, Lotus Super Seven II 1/24 very nice tires as well. The pressing between the bolt holes is a bit odd I think compared to, for example, 13 inch 4 bolt rims like 60's Ford Mustang.
  5. I sit down and build about three half-hour sessions a day actually since I stopped working, in between I think a lot about the next step. For late fall winter I would like to build a kit of like 24 or 48 hours.
  6. I want to remember that I sanded off some of the part that is glued to the roof to make the window sit higher up and better. Fantastic with a four-door full size but I had to tinker quite a lot with the interior to get the car together. Now it is half done in its box. If it helps you I can take some pictures of parts and the half build car.
  7. What a wonderful car, the simpler the clearer.
  8. Fantastic performance, I hope there will be a show in Stockholm next year so I perhaps can get a chance to see it live.
  9. See my picture/not I think it’s red so the non car nuts can see and recognice the Shelby and the red drag our eyes torward the right spot. The Chevy Blazer from Blues Brothers, the scene just befogenheter the jump has the front mounted spare tire to catch our eyes. I like the red and blue, thanks for the idea !
  10. Last one from Gotland Island Sweden this year, 57’s has always been most wanted here.
  11. An acquaintance who builds track racing cars has made his own by wrapping copper wire around pieces of styrene. When the wire looks reasonable with the right distance between the turns, he paints with enamel paint (brush) a few times and wipes off the outer so that the paint fills up and keeps the wire in place.
  12. Belive me, it’s my favorite after the glue has set for real. Don’t force, lite and fast over the shape. It follow the shape of oilpan, gearbox etc and the are cheep as our wifes bye them. I use new one for big seams and a bit used for precision work.
  13. Strange, rented this one month and do not like, I love it. Unexpected. but it does what a car should do and it does it well.
  14. Looks great, I built that kit when it came out. I chickened out and glued a brass wire between the front wheels that the car rested on because I felt the front axle was a little weak.
  15. On the limestone gravel between the sea and a decent cover band.
  16. Nice build, I like it and I like the idea promo style. There are usually theme threads like show yours _____ but I have not found any with promo style. Is there anyone who has a tip ?
  17. Beware that Vallejo has two different kinds of clear coat, I realized it the other day. One like the colors and one like the primer, for example Vallejo 72651 Polyurethane Matt Varnish. So Polyurethane just like aircraft and armor builders favorite clear coat from Microscale. I will dive deep down into these clearcoats and primers after the summer. Polyurethane requires a little more work to clean the airbrush than the regular Vallejo paints.
  18. Definitely Monogram, there have been quite a few sold in Sweden over the years and you will probably be able to find the parts you are missing. My impression is that quite a few 1:1 rodders have both gluebombs and complete kits in the basement. regarding the sanding scratches, I think you can get to the body well by sanding with wet sandpaper, filling deep scratches and using a slightly filling primer such as Hagmans (not Biltema's light gray). Test on a small surface. The Facebook group Grevens Glue Galore is the right place for those who have Facebook in Sweden. Don't miss Hobbyhaket in Västerås, Fredrik might be able to help you.
  19. I think there also is the "Dixie Twister" seen at Youtube on South East Gassers channel.
  20. https://cj3b.info/Toys/CJ3BJ4AToy.html Wrong scale but is it what you looking for ? I will start my 1/25 CJ5 MPC build any year…
  21. Ulf

    32 Ford

Nice, can I be a little curious and ask if you use any primer before Tamiya's acrylic colors?
  22. Thanks for the tip, I just applied it to my summer cottage project, before it was a smooth surface. Now I see clearly what needs to be done. Your build is a top ten in the years I have been watching the forum.
  23. Gotland Island Sweden, at a place by the sea as far east as you can get.
  24. Nice to see a Big Bug, You have a great eye for parts. I like the stock steering wheel and the scoop(looks like classic bolt on but I don’t remember any from my childhood).
