  1. Nicely built, my absolute favorite kit, this kit established my AMT fanboy identity for life.
  2. Looks very promising, you won't be able to finish by next week ?
  3. I wish I could have such a relaxed attitude to painting when I'm working on my kits. Thursday is the start of the holiday season and some want to leave town with a bit of class.
  4. We took the Boxster to a physical hobby shop 70 miles away. Hobbyhaket Västerås Sweden It's a unique feeling to be able to choose from a well-stocked store in 2024.
  5. Fantastic, great to see a build like this from a time before I came to the forum. The pictures from the first post show something that impresses me and shows the class of the build, that the interior tub is painted on the outside.
  6. In a confused time when I had a hard time concentrating on the last (painting among other things) on my TROG 34 coupe, it became (yet) a side track with this one. I myself am very hesitant to build or try to build copies of private cars so it will be my own interpretation with the elements that I think define the car, the front, babymoons, rear wheel arches, the rear and an OHW V8. That a custom with these elements was built in Stockholm Sweden in 1964 feels almost unreal. There will be quite a lot of putty to grind soon enough. The kit is a jumping block bought at some exhibition and it feels like someone missed these parts over the years and finally got together an almost complete kit with bad parts… See the link to Kustomrama Bengt Wennergren's 1949 Ford - Kustomram https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fkustomrama.com%2Fwiki%2FBengt_Wennergren%2527s_1949_Ford&data=05%7C02%7CUlf.Nordemyr%40vasakronan.se%7Cee42b1972aa14ddb807908dc6a77fdca%7Cdd7191f1e8a340e9a8427857b1aadee7%7C1%7C0%7C638502310782280141%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=QY%2FiDP3h634yUdDL1XjYUHodNTe9pCdYTjLagBOdx8g%3D&reserved=0
  7. Wow, you hit the nail on the head. I have a RHD Jago 32 on my mental build list and am looking at English builds from the 70's and 80's and your van looks like it came from one of the pages with scanned pictures and magazines from that era.
  8. No one complains about the neighbor parking on the sidewalk ?
  9. Not for me, sorry for posting..
  10. Wow, subjekt, stance, colour, detail, everything.
  11. Congrats Steve, unique level.
  12. I was given a Porsche by my wife in the fall of 2007, without really realizing it I chose a manual. In short, it saved my life. It stopped 20 times on the first day and I couldn't deny how exhausted I was, changed my life and became a happier person who also has a Porsche.
  13. Nice, a fellow drills through a thin or actually two aluminum tubes to hit the center of the bolt, the coarser one fits right over the "bolt" and inside that he has a thinner one to be able to use a really thin drill. On old AMT rims there won't be much left to cut away after that.
  14. It would be wonderful if it could be available in Europe too, at least for Christmas and in the typical holiday resorts... There are so many ordinary people who are so keen to build plastic models again but the step to ordering online, combined with the great supply, is too big.
  15. Has anyone built or seen such a kit as an American Ford Falcon Futura ? I hitchhiked home from the muster once a long time ago in a metallic blue with inline six and four bolt wheels, it would be fun to build.
  16. I cut, prep, build, wash, prime, paint and detail. For me, the priority is: well built with prepped parts before separately painted parts. I learned to build like that when I built tanks.
  17. Strip off the chrome and especially the clear coat, remove with a toothbrush so that all the clear coat is gone, put a little Tamiya black wash so you see the details more clearly, magnifying glasses and yellow glasses are the next step but a black wash increases the contrast.
  18. More info reg 1957 Chevrolet https://www.imcdb.org/v233275.html
  19. Almost everyone has done so. Immediately after filming, the car was sold and exported to Sweden where it still exists today, I think. I last saw it less than ten years ago. With a bit of luck I will be able to post some pictures this fall so you can build an accurate replica.
  20. This is my absolute favorite kit, I'm considering ordering a box of 12 from the original batch. It's really nice to see your well prepped parts.
  21. Nice green color, what do you use for primer and clear coat ?
  22. I'll throw in a wild card, the bronze 57 Chevy. Now I can't find a picture online but I've never seen it specifically built in AG context.
