  1. That is because it is an actual car Welcome Ron, looks like you have been lurking for quite some time now.
  2. Basically; count on me. I will find a way. My girl is already interested, so if you see somebody very, very sleepy; that's me I probably will hang out with Rodney, so he might be the guy that can introduce us Or you will recognize the Christine's That's all I will and can bring with me
  3. Thanks guys, Very much appreciated for the positive comments. Progress has been slow, but I manage to finish the first Christine and working on the second. I hope to finish that one this week, when that one is finished, all I have to do is to finish the beaten-up Christine, which will be still quite a lot of work. But I have scheduled a airbrush-training, which should get me more familiar with my double-actions airbrushes. I do have to practise some more on the polishing, I do a poor job at those, I can´t get the surface near a piece of molding right and sand through the edges. Plus a lot seems to go wrong with Christine #2, since the paint is chipping off, I get glue stains in them and the wheel stance is way off. So not that much to write this time, but enjoy the pictures: *Oh, I just wish they didnt had so much Chrome in those days
  4. No, but I have been to a drive-in at PIR, a swap meet of normal car-stuff a little south of Portland, the NorthWest Car collector show and the Modelcontest in the aviationmuseum where the spruce-goose is. All in 2007. So I haven't been in the USA this year. sorry.
  5. Naah, I don't want you to get me in the middle of the night from the airport But kind offered though, Although Christine and I figured out that I have to get my luggage quickly, since the last MAX runs at 11:56 hahaha, so no delays United! But maybe we can do something with getting to the meeting, but on second thought, don't want to do that either, that would make you go to the meeting very late or you have to step out, not the best thing either. I talked it over with my G/F and she would like to meet some of my friends from the board, so there is a green light of going to the meeting and I'll bring her with me.
  6. You are correct, and I don't know why or how, but I guessed I messed up teh days. I will arrive friday night and ofcourse it is Saturday for the event. Too bad it isnt sunday How late for entering a model? I can't compete for prices, but just want to see if I am any good.
  7. I sure will, but like I said; that Friday is going to be a 30 hour day and I don't know how fried I am when I wake up on sunday morning But I do hope to visit, although it will be for sure not in the morning, but in the afternoon.
  8. Thanks Dave, nice website. IF, just IF I am enough awake, I will stop by the 18th. I will arrive in Portland on the 17th around 11pm at night after a horrid 22 hour flight. But I hope my Insomnia will help me for once and stop by. I might even bring the Christine's with me
  9. try a gentle polish-job
  10. I like them both But there is also the Northwest car collectors show, somewhere in november I think. And the drive-ins ad PIR. They are even better than the shows. So much to see, so little time.
  11. In addition; I like it too, but I think it is cluttering a little too much in the 'Under Glass' Section. Maybe for next year a separate forum part for this?
  12. I love it Dave, it sure looks like a TigerShark up front now! Love it.
  13. It's just that Ferrari lost it's passionate touch, I didn't loved the 360 Modena directly, but I do like it. I love the Ferrari's in the 70's and 80's, but just now....Whatever it was, it feels like it is gone. Ferrari has become a 'Porsche'. A mass-production marketing-brand. Everybody wants them, well, because everybody has them. Everybody can drive them now too. Ofcourse, it would be better for a company to go for mass-production, and get some more bucks, but IMHO it killed the spirit of Ferrari. The only true ferrari at this moment would be the Scuderia, but the design is just so ugly. Although it is the best looking one at the moment. Here are two examples of what could've been; A Ferrari based upon the 599: And the well-known P4/5, based upon the Enzo. It's even more aerodynamic and faster than the original, without any technical changes.
  14. Limousine is the french and official term for a saloon, this term starts from the early day's of motoring. Later on, in the states, they came up with the name 'stretched-limo', which are ofcourse the broadley known majorly white and black caddy's. Rick, please don't get me wrong, I have no negative purposes with the following statement; but there is another whole world outside the United States. I personally don't like VW, as they are popular because they are popular, but here in Europe, many, many Corrado's have been sold. And still drive. So it is not hard to imagine there would be a market, a lot of people would love to get their hands on one and rebuild their own car. Revell even made in 2006 or 2007 a 1/18 Diecast model of the Corrado. So I guess there would be a market for that. And on the California; Yuk, but I guess the Paris Hilton scene would be pleased with it. Ferrari already let me down when they came with the 612, 599 and the 430. Ever since that Japanese guy took the head on PininFarina, the designs became too cold, too technical. In my beliefs the 360 Modena is the last beautiful Ferrari, and I am so waiting for new passionate designs. Not marketing-designs.
  15. I usually use Tamiya tape, however, after I did the Christine I got a little scared, the Tamiya tape ate into my tape Maybe the tape was too old and therefore changed a little, or the paint was too fresh, which I doubt.
  16. does anybody has an idea when the release will be?
  17. Thanks for the review, I was hoping one would come with one as I've been interested in this one since it got announced. I guess I will be picking one up when I visit the US in april again.
  18. Didn't the old ambulances/firetrucks has something on the front of the engines?
  19. I am near the same of Rodney's but with some difference. Spending a heck lot of a time in a modelstore to find the model I want ( or online ) Anxious waiting to get it Ripping the box open, look at the body and the other parts Reading the manual over and over Visualize new ideas, visualize a paintjob Starting assembling the motor and detailling, trying to go further than where I stopped with my last model Starting modifying the body and make it better Starting the paintjob and starting to detail the interior And in the finishing stage; sence I am satisfied and can't wait to see it done. And start the next model
  20. Thanks guys for clearing it up, so it was both a challenge/groupbuild as just building a quickie I build a few quickies, but since a little while I don't have the sattisfaction anymore, it lacks detail and I see too much things I wish I had done different. My paintjobs are now even smeared over at least 2 weeks, all to do with preparations, painting and polishing. hahaha
  21. I don't get it, I happen to see it more often that people mention it is a 48 or 96 hour build. Please don't get me wrong, but I don't live over there and have no clue what is meant with that. Is it some kind of race, is it a group-build, is it a challenge or is it just dragging about how fast one can build?
