    '62 Impala SS

Great looking build and I like the interior color combination. When I got back into modeling three years ago (after about a twenty plus year hiatus) this kit was the first one I built. And a very nice kit I might add.
  2. Very clean and well detailed build.
  3. Very nice work and yes, a very nice kit.
  4. Awesome! Paint looks flawless and the vinyl top paint worked quite well. The '67 and '68 fastback Chevys were such beautiful automobiles.

    '66 Impala SS

Beautiful build in a popular color from that year. Great work detailing the belt line molding.
  6. Thanks Anders.

    Road Warrior

Definitely cool and something I've never seen before.
  8. Great looking build and period look.
  9. Great work Craig and that color is perfect. It is rather difficult to find such a blue with the current Dupli-Color offerings. Custom mixing seems to be the only way to go for such a color.
  10. Thank you Carl. The one advantage to running the clear heavier was that I was able to drop back to 1500 grit wet sanding paper and remove almost all of the orange peel.
  11. A boat? That's pretty funny and fortunately the car was saved. It's too bad Olds passed because it was a great look especially with the sloped front end. That GS is something special and a great color combination.
  12. Wow, that is impressive, and I wasn't aware of that model.
  13. Agreed. I enlarged the picture on my computer and the asking price was $12,500 obo with just over 19,000 miles.
  14. Thanks Jeremy. It's always a pleasure to build this kit.
  15. Yeah, I've found steady even passes to be a key along with holding the can at a good distance. At times when I've applied the clear to heavily on a coat it has the tendency to "smear" the particles. I've found that in addition to lighter coats of clear limiting the number of coats in a day has helped prevent the smearing.
  16. Interesting story Tim and yes this isn't a color often seen on these cars.
  17. Glad you liked them John. I actually liked the Cutlass models with the square headlights but preferred the Chevelle and LeMans with round lights.
  18. Thanks for the info on the clear and yes that interior has been very neatly detailed.
  19. That looks like a resin copy of the stock car? Great model to have.
  20. For Colonnade fans like myself here are a few pictures of a 1973 Cutlass S taken at Carlisle in 2013.
  21. Same here. I do wonder how it would react to a surface coated with Molotow or Alclad.
  22. Thank you Phillipe, Bill, Gareth, Larry, Craig and Bill. I considered doing an all red interior. I like the Dupli-Color lacquers but at times it can be tricky to get the metallic particles to look even. Which is why I find it important to spray the clear lightly on the first few coats.
  23. That clear has a great shine. Is it water based by any chance?
  24. Hopefully the new foil will have some type of label indicating it is in fact the original product. Otherwise, there is no way of knowing what you're receiving if it is just simply labeled bright chrome for example.
  25. Very neat and clean looking build. And definitely not the easiest kit to build from what I've heard. Haven't even attempted mine. Yet.
