"Holy Grail" Models?
Bullybeef replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is a kit that has eluded me for quite some time, I’ve missed it in production a number of times, and I’ve refused to pay eBay prices. And I’ve recently achieved success ?? now I can finally build a replica of my 1:1 car! -
Decided it was time to post this one up, my take on a 32 Ford pickup. Started with the bones of an amt kit, I will be combining the cab and bed with the revell 32 frame and fenders, I’ll also be pilfering the bod and radiator shell. The first pic is as usual my inspiration from the interwebs So the bulk of the build will be from surviving bits from some rough built ups that I’ve sourced over the past couple of months. Ive started off with filing the extra trim line off the cab, and mocking up the frame and body parts. the rest are progress of sorts,

Looks like you are off to a good start.

I’m suffering from a bit of project add at the moment, some we’re stalled while waiting on parts, so others were started??♂️ Got some updates on my 33, more work on the 60’s 32, and the 36 is finished! started a 37 car hauler, and started a 34 to 32 pickup conversion! Sorted my wheels and tires! And finally started a 74 chev pickup it’s been a hectic bench for a couple of weeks

Yeah those parts are very difficult to source locally, I lucked out on a recent trade deal with a friend, he had duplicates of some stuff and I had some stuff he really wanted! current progress is back on bodywork and interior planning, there were a couple of small areas of concern that required a bit more filling. the interior tub will have to be greatly modified to sit with the amount of channel the body has. I may have to consider a custom interior.

Let's See Some Glue Bombs!
Bullybeef replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some of the better ones I’ve gotten recently. I’m hoping to restore the three dragsters. The frame is a revell 40 Ford, this was after a 72 hour soak in super clean, the glue was brittle enough to pick off, the only part that didn’t survive the process was the front wishbone -
Scored a load of nos resin and detail parts from a local from fb marketplace, and another load of rebuilders/parts cars from a local collector, he hates early cars so I get these fairly cheap! there is work involved to get these though, I have to sort and re-stack through piles of bins to find them.

Well some progress has been made, front suspension will be from the ant 41 woody, while the rear will be from a revell 40 Ford coupe, got both in a recent pile of rebuilders. wheels and tires are also from an early Ala-cart rebuilder. And some parts are parts bin specials. Made some slight modifications to the frame/floor pan and proceeded to get it ready in paint. So here is where we are so far today, I’m hoping to have some more progress on the engine by days end.

Well we are back on track, parts have arrived thank you again @Kit Karson next update will be progress

I’m down with this build, I’ve been wanting to build a 32 based gasser, I’ll follow along for inspiration.

This build is very inspiring, I had started a 33 build early in the new year, and it’s currently stalled due to a lack of parts, I do have some of the needed parts arriving this week in the mail (hopefully)

Thank you Tim, And to answer your question, I had never posted a build thread for the 3window, that was my motivation to get back into the hobby late last year. But for your viewing enjoyment I’ll post some pics of it

So much awesomeness in this thread! All my favourite builders, working on pretty darn cool projects! ive got a lot of projects on the bench atm, but I did a quick inventory and I think I may have enough to assemble my own version, I need to do a little internet sleuthing to see if I can find a visual reference of what I’d like to build.

1975 Chevy Blazer
Bullybeef replied to Bullybeef's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Well so far this one is taking a bit of time, wheel and tire choices are a bit light ( mostly due to my affliction for hot rods haha) I picked up a foose F100 kit to steal the frame and drivetrain for my step side project, so I stuck the completed frame under the blazer for a quick mock-up. wheel and tire sizes work for the look that I’m going for, so with that I’m off to my lhs to see what they have in tuner wheels and tires. and I think the last two pictures will look better for a colour choice than black! -
Good deal, I have that kit! thank you

34 Church Truck
Bullybeef replied to OldNYJim's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Glad to see this one finished, so many unfulfilled builds on here that’s it’s great to see them into completion. being a novice ole fella builder I really appreciate the level that some of these builds get to. it has me motivated to get working on my 32 pickup conversion. -

This is next level modelling right here, I’m glad I stopped scrolling and had a read here. -
love it so far. What kit did you steal the hairpins from, they look longer that the ones in the revell 32 Ford kit?
