  1. That engine is glorious? the whole build is awesome! What kit or supplier did that engine come from?
  2. @Snake45Great tutorial for making springs! What thickness of styrene sheet did you use?
  3. In today’s episode we will start on the interior, using the tub from the Amt 5 window kit, started by removing the floor from the tub as it will bee too tall with the section job. Selected some parts and started laying out the parts to see how it would all fit! Used my headless driver for mocking up the steering wheel height? he appreciates the side work! Just waiting for the seats to come out of their purple bath, then they will get some colour.
  4. An under appreciated kit piece, the Latham blower from the Amt T kit, I know @Dennis Lacy built one up for a flathead and his looked pretty darn good! I’m not sure if you are planning to run a full hood or not?
  5. I’ve managed to obtain both kits, the revell and the amt, as well as a third built up revell, I have your build to follow as inspiration, love the work on this so far! Well done sir well done
  6. Maybe mini me lol
  7. Thank you well I’m still working on ride height and fitment of the chosen wheels and tires, I think I have the height finally nailed. and I got slightly sidetracked with detailing a race driver for a possible digger or coupe project Excuse the engine in the pic, it’s still going to have a flathead
  8. Looks great in a shiny red!
  9. Lol I’m working on completing the engine today, have to make some engine mounts and set it down a little in the frame, also need to do some clearancing inside the body to get the front of the body to come down abit more
  10. Looks Good from here, I’m in for this one as I have a Tudor body and an orange crate in the mail!
  11. Well insulated, but Unheated it was a balmy 3 above in there, I have a small nook in there that I have a small space heater in close to my paint booth( cardboard box with a lamp over it)
  12. Something about this colour seems right??‍♂️
  13. Found some time to get a colour shot on the body today! not bad for painting in the garage with the outside temps being what they were
  14. I know this is not directly related to the topic at hand, but it has some relevance haha. I was digging through some boxes in my basement and found this among some older hot rod magazines! too bad the article was not in colour! @tim boyd
  15. Starting to get the suspension ready for install, dry fitting some parts to make sure all the clearances are still good after paint, I will have to rework the exhaust system a little to mate up with the foose FE427 headers!
  16. Love the detail on the chassis, it’s becoming one of my favourite parts of a model, next to engine to build!
  17. I’m excited to see the next round of progress from the Three Amigos of styrene ?
  18. Thank you so much @Dennis Lacy, well today we have setbacks and Soloutions, being that this is a rescue of a previously built model, it was built up with no paint, and we all know that means almost perfect glue adhesion☹️ So in dismantling the cab the windshield and frame were horribly glued together and the result was mangled styrene. I saved as much of it as I could to hopefully provide enough for a template of sorts to fabricate another frame, I’ll just cut another windshield from the excess acetate sheet from Revells 29 pickup. I had thought of using a stock frame from a 32 5 window kit but they are not the same curve on the cowl. so out came the sheet styrene 020 and a template was marked for size, I used common masking tape to get the correct arc for the bottom and the cutting began. with a little light sanding and filing I should be able to massage this into a decent enough frame.
  19. Bobbed the box, by what should be 16 scale inches, and got the first colour coat on!
  20. Thank you sir, my favourite part of any build seems to be detailing the suspension! And a complete engine. Had to do a bit of trimming on the revell frame to get it all lined up and sorted for that monster 427 and massively long C6 trans. and thanks again to @Muncie for these awesome engine stands!
  21. Checked the mail today and was pleasantly surprised to find a box from Revell. I had purchased the grease ford convertible and the windshield frame was horribly mangled, went online and filled out the warranty part replacement form and now it’s finally arrived. They were kind enough to send another hood, glass and taillight lenses!
  22. I think it turned out remarkably well
