Man, I'd love to see a 54-56 Cadillac in 1/25 scale. I've never built anything in 1/32.

That's one killer 57. Stance is perfect. And the story makes it better!

1932 ford roadster oem style top
Dan Hay replied to R. Thorne's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The top you're trying to replicate is a stock 32 top with extra material on the sides. As has been mentioned, a Monogram 32 Roadster will get you started, then add some plastic to the sides to create the new shape of the side opening. I'm pretty sure I have one of these tops in my stash if you want it. -
Killer! I love it.

Wow! That thing is killer!

Really looks good, the whole look, and the flames really capture the "Ohio Look" as I've heard it called.

That’s pretty dang cool! Now build a replica of “The Homer”. Remember that one?

Thanks guys for the kind words!

Our house burst a pipe in the attic during the great freeze of 2021 in Texas. It dropped the ceiling in the living room and flooded the house. We had to move out for 7 months and live with my in-laws. So, to keep from killing anyone I built a lot of models! 32 Sedan, 32 Bob McGee Roadster, 57 black widow, Rutherford 63 Chevy, Johnson 63 Chevy, Fireball Roberts 62 Pontiac

Really neat build! Lil John was a heckuva craftsman.

My first car was an 86 Cavalier Z24 hatchback. I would love to build a model of it, but it has a different front end than this kit. Even so, your build brings back a lot of memories! Thanks for sharing it.

Nice clean build!

Overhaulin' Project: Monogram 1939 Chevy Coupe. Opinions requested.
Dan Hay replied to larman's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I would go the gasser route because there's more room for creativity. I like street rods but they are kinda boring. With a model you can go wild with no penalty like a real one, as in "this car is so weird nobody will ever buy it" scenario. Case in point: check out this AMT 37 Chevy coupe I built (with a Modelhaus 38 conversion) Go wild with the paint and put some cool decals on it. Heck, it already has a blown BBC, so you're good in the engine department. -
I did a bunch of work to the ol 39.... The original intention was to just install a dropped axle but things snowballed. But I fixed a lot of little things and I'm very happy with it. It drives so much better! So, I did a dropped axle, but it was too low so the tires wouldn't turn so I raised it back up about an inch by putting an extra leaf in the front spring. While the suspension was out, I noticed the motor mount biscuits were collapsed and the oil pan was riding on the crossmember. So, I fixed that an replaced the oil pan gasket. I also did a front sway bar and new Bilstein shocks. In the rear I installed a Posies lowering spring. Overall it was a 1.5" drop in the rear and a little over 1" drop in the front. Subtle but worth it! There was slop in the steering box so I adjusted that out of it, and man oh man it drives a lot better, and looks better.

Love it! I've been on a vintage NASCAR kick lately.

Looks fast! I love the plumbing job on the twin turbskies.

Just like your other builds, looks great and is properly proportioned. I will say though, it'll run hot without an upper radiator hose...?
