Thank you! I'll post some pics as I get it waxed / polished. This one is going to be on the backburner as I wait for some parts I ordered for this one.

OK. I'm waiting for parts to come in to finish up the '66 Mustang, so I started on the '69 Country Charger This body is pretty bad. Lots of seems to sand out and the fenders are kinda wavy! I wet sanded the the body with 600 grit auto sandpaper to get the seems out and try to straighte the fenders a bit. Here is the paint I bought from Hobby Lobby I mixed it with regular windshield washer fluid and sprayed a light mist coat Then just misted on a couple more coats Third coat- finally starting to cover final coat sprayed pretty wet I dried each coat with a hairdryer until it was dry to the touch. Tthen I started spraying the Future Frst couple coats of Future misted on to act as a tack coat Final and wet coat of Future Here it is dry to the touch but not cured. Total spray time including drying between coats was about 25 minutes. then let sit 15 minutes before I sprayed the Future. I'll let this sit for a few days and wax it. I'll post some more pics I'l also address the flash I missed on the right front fender What do you guys/girls think of this color? I'm going to build this as a regular muscle car.

Thanks for the feedback. I am too afraid afraid to put the decals on now. Iv'e got the body just where I want it ( it could always be shinier though>>>)
-
Thanks for the kind words. Yes I airbrushed the future at 40 psi. 2 light coats then a good wet coat
-
Looks really good. Nice job on the wood grain and pistol grip!
-
Thank you for the compliment! The airbrush/compressor I have is from harbor freight. I dont think there is a way to lower the psi with the regulator on it. I am very pleased with the paint on this body an will probablly leave it alone. I will be painting the body of a Charger for my next build. I plan on a metallic green I bought. Over black, it looks like a good match to brittish racing green. I post some progress pics of the painting

Decisions decisions...

I'm skipping the decals on this one, not sure how the gold decals would look with the blue. If the decals were white, on the other hand I'd take a chance on it.

Mike, I have checked out your wip post. The engine and interior are outstanding! Looking forward to seeing more pf your progress.

Thanks! Im torn between this kit and the 1/16 57 Chevy convertable
-
Thank you for the tip. No more model glue on the body or clear parts for me! Hopefully I can button this up without botching anything else ....
-
Thanks! Yep. 2 coats of future on the dry side, then one wet coat. I let it sit for a few days and and polishe with cleaner wax
-
Thanks for the compliment! I use windshield washer fluid
-
Cant wait to see pics after they are cleared
-
Thank you. Its a bit of trial and error. I painted lots of spoons!

Looks Great! Can you please tell me what kit this is? Woud you post a pic of the under carriage?

Thanks Carl. This has been lots of fun. Once I get the windshield, I'll be able to button it up
