  1. MPC or AMT 69 cuda with an AMT 71Duster chassis and driveline
  2. MPC 65 or 6 hemi under glass cuda, with an AMT 71 duster chassis and drive line. An AMT 426 wedge with triple 2s. tamiya mica silver with a clear coat.
  3. And yet another beautifully done interior. beautiful build of a beautiful car !
  4. I like the interior detail, Beautiful job.
  5. Oh woe, and the collectors cringe. Very nicely done.
  6. Love that color Michelle, keep them coming.
  7. While I screwed up the Impala paint job and wet sand, I had been distracting myself with a scrap parts build of an early jalopy, there is no plan, it'll go where it will, so I CAN'T screw THAT up. The last monstrosity created this way is a hot rod fiat topalino(?) with vw fenders,34 ford flat head, and mg wheels n tires. Truly an ugly little troll. pics coming soon ?

  9. I've heard some builders tear down a great build for the parts to make another great build, but reusing the body for another project ? That's a clever idea. as I enjoy the building of a model, over the finishing of a build. This may be something I would like to try. Thank you for sharing this with us Michelle, you may be on to something.
  10. I had no idea the roofline was so dramatically different.
  11. I'm pretty sure I've never restored a model to its original state,,,, say an Old AMT 59merc, with parts that were originally in the kit, to a box stock state. So I can honestly say I've never, and probably never will restore an old glue bomb. I guess it might be a restification ?
  12. Yup ,this auto be good. Stuff an out of scale engine in it , shoe some 1/20 scale wheels n tires under it, and call it a promod. Kind of like those Zingers from back in the day. cool concept. You have my attention, I'll be watching.
  13. So if the intent, at KP is to go digital ,why then not continue the web site for SA and its readers ? Pfffft KP, and SA. I feel absolutely no sense of loyalty to a company that would shun its customer base.
  14. NICE ! Do junk box builds qualify as restorations ? I've got at least three on the shelf that are built from junk box parts. A closed cab model t pu, a maverick, and a 63 falcon.
  15. Tamiya. only brand I used for this project. Primer, coral blue oops, gold ts 21.
  16. I refuse to engage in auctions. If and when I do buy ,its from a reputable vendor ,such as, deans, Spotlight, roundup ,or local hobby shop. I simply can't afford it.
  17. So , I've been thinkin, I'm fortunate I have a 25 year stash, and I save anything even remotely usable, and being a kit basher,,, well . Needless to say I have a lot of parts. I've been thrashing through my parts boxes, gathering parts for a jalopy, a Mutt, a mishmash, a hodgepodge of bits, and parts. Lets call it a decompression build, You know, to blow off steam after a uh, mishap. No plan, You can NOT, have a plan ! I've got a few Junk box builds on the shelf too, but that's whole other thing. A 32 Chevy "vampire van chassis, I think an early 50s GM rear end , a front suspension and I beam axle from an AMT 37 Chevy .Maybe an inline six from the REVELL 41 Chevy pick up. All these parts are leftover from other builds. A set of big'n littles, ,white walls, BIG, FAT, WIDE WHITEWALLS ! A nice set of chromed steel wheels,,,,. There is no way I could build the stuff I do without my stash of kits and parts. Every kit I've ever purchased has been with " the intent to build",,,,,, or use for parts. I'd pick them up where ever I found them CHEAP. Another advantage I may have had, was driving for a living. I went all over this lower 48, visited hobby shops when ever and where ever I could to find that great deal. Any way, those days are long gone. I have to work with what I have, for the most part. I don't think there's any DANGER of me running out of kits or, for as long as I'm willing to hack into a perfectly good,, or even a great (?) kit , for a complete doner , or just a couple of bits n pieces. I will not be running low on parts. My stash of kits n parts , has no monetary value to me. I'm adding to the scarcity of those old Y-H mopar and those EARLY AMT kits, so the price just went up. I can justify ALMOST any behavior errrr, MODEL RELATED behavior that is. Manic, I'm going back to the bench. Oh yeah, and 32 Ford front fenders and running boards .
  18. My mishap for today was discovering the repaint on the repainted 58 chevy , still hasn't cured,,,,,, It's been 48 hrs, Same brand I prefer,,, if its not good to wet sand tomorrow ? strip it
  19. nice paint ,and very nice detail on those dashboards, those catalina interiors are fun huh?
  20.   I've got a set of those Michelins you were asking about. Do you still need them ? if so pm me your mailing address
