I see this thread is going nowhere, but, I've gotten back to the 58 chevy with the poor paint job and worse repaint. I did some minor detailing to the interior, but not to the common standard I've seen on this sight. I've got the "glass", the interior in, and the chassis completed. I still need to finish up the 63 z16 427 engine, going to go black as a Jenkins performance unit, duel quads on an aluminum intake etc. body color steel wheels, early retread cheater slicks for the aging, early to mid 60s blvrd. brawler look .sorry no pics. as yet.

While sitting here ,waiting for the paint to dry on Dah Grump's Vega. Thinkin'bout what's next,,,,, bouncing around looking for inspiration, I see a post for 65 plymouth,,,,. Dah Grump ran a 65 plymouth in 65. Hmmmm. That milktrike looks cool, all of those kits look very intriguing, all the possibilities,,,, even for a 70's style show rod ? HMMM. Hot rods,,, I've got a FEW, on the shelf of doom, and many more in my stash, waiting for me to find a renewed interest. From "T"s n A's to B's and sso on. Then there's the mopars,, I've got a 41 Plymouth, modern street machine almost done, maybe I'll finish that, or the stock version, maybe the 77 monte,or the 58 bisc. the 69 corva,,, THE Duesnburgh hearse, no, no,. Watching a thread for a custom 49 merc. has got me wanting to saw, slice, dice, and splice, Hmmmm. NO KIT IS SAFE

As bad as the chassis is in this kit, I'll prob pick up another. The 74 is dipicted on the 72 box as the Bruce Larson's usa 1 vega. A decal swap ? For now, kit bash and scratch a chassis and drive line. The only kit parts I'm using are the rear wheels, the carbs, carb venturi , (?) interior, wheelie bars, and the body. I used the rear of a 76 nova prostreet chassis, and the front clip of an MPC/AMT 70 Plymouth superstocker frame and susp. parts box bits and pcs. scratched front tube frame So far it looks pretty good,,,,, by my meager standards anyway. Certainly not accurate by any stretch, but looks convincing enough for me. The engine is the 327 from the AMT 66 prostreet Nova kit, parts box bits and scratched plumbing and ventilation. A couple of questions though, for the next one. When did the lenco trannys debut? distributor or magneto ? did the engine utilize a vacuum pump ? the crankcase ventilation set up in the pics I found, seems a bit elaborate for just a vent system.

I'm going to re-reread that wip. This thing is beautiful. NOT your grampa's Merc

it does make a good looking curb side though.

I'm working with one of those myself. I ditched the chassis plate, and the engine, and the wheels and the tires. The body deserves better, DAH GRUMP deserves better! Kitbash and scratch with this one.

They only thing missing on what could fit into the east coast vibe ( personally, I love the east coast look), is a white firewall. -
I had to do a double take, nice build !
