  1. OMG! That in my driveway would be enough to make me wake up every morning with a smile! I love the "choose your hides" option! Help me out here- I know it's older than a deuce. What year is it?
  2. My ol' girl passed away from New England Cancer, rotted out the rocker panels, and all four torsion bars need replacement, and front axle joints too. I hate to see it go. I had her for over ten years. Friday, we took delivery on a 2004 Passat W8 4motion. Man, she's sweet! I didn't even know Volkswagen made a V8!
  3. Well Dave, what it's really called, cannot be posted here! Ha. Ha. But seriously, it's all good. I don't have your answer, I guess it's the automotive version of modern art.
  4. How Geezerman got a squirrel skull... This is going to be one "out there" rod! Kind of "out of the box"... rolled off the table... on to the floor... out the door.... into the yard... BTW, keep an eye out for it's relatives seeking vengance!
  5. Rob- You can't go wrong with a short block Chevy.... What? Ohh, sorry. Wrong engine.
  6. I am sure Tamiya Tape works, but it's not available to everyone. What I suggest is your local auto parts store. Not some national chain (PepBoys, Auto Zone, etc.) but the real deal type store that sells to auto body shops. Buy some 3M striping tape. I believe they sell it as narrow as 1/8" width. If they tell you that you need to buy a whole package of it, tell them to get real; time to find another store. A reputable jobber will sell by the single roll. Also beware of lesser quality brands. For example, I have seen masking tapes not made by 3M that are total junk; either won't stick, or sticks so strong it cannot be removed easily. I just say that for an example, do not use masking tape for an edge.
  7. Here is some pics of work I am doing to Testors late-model Charger R/T. First, those big clunky hinges had to go! A grind head in my moto tool did the job. Yeah, it's a pre-paint metal body, but the rest of the kit is just like a regular plastic kit. No hinges, so I filled in the slots in the firewall... Here is the chassis. I did a lot of research on this, everywhere there is masking tape, is black on the real car. I misted a coat of Sub-Lime around the edges as minimally as I could... Here is the 5.7L Hemi. I added a the oil dipstick, and made the "HEMI" graphics for the engine cover. Next, the interior. Thanks for looking.
  8. "I agree with Tommy and his bug." Maybe we should get Tommy a can of Raid?!
  9. My home-made non-ALPS decals are usually for dark graphics on light background, with the exception of these decals I made for a friend. The decal is square, sized to the edges of the door. I made several different ones, each with a slightly different shade of blue for the door area. I told Chris to use the one that looks best. This worked only because the blue was solid, not metallic.
  10. The silver B4 pictured is a brand new prototype undergoing shakedown testing at what I believe is Mt. Fuji speedway in Japan, and therefore has not won any races, much less been in any races. But, it does look like it could do the task. Of course, looks mean squat in racing.
  11. I'm not holding my breath for this one to show up on a hobby shop shelf, but I wish it would!
  12. Gregg, I just left you a message under the "Update e-mail" post. I need some help on eliminating a "dead" account that has my current e-mail addy. I need to delete "SpyderII", that has my correct e-mail corsacamino@ne.rr.com, but I cannot even figure out how to sign in on that account, much less change or delete it Sorry fer beeng a compooter doofus! BTW, hope I didn't leave a negative impression on the Scooby, I think it rocks! And, how could anyone say "the wheels look too small" when they tower over the fenders???
  13. I have a "1:1 MOPAR- WHEELSTANDERS" photo reference album, maybe this will be of some use to y'all? http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_mopar-1/11_mopar-_lil_red/
  14. Considering their tendacy for Rally or Super GT cars, this Subaru 2010 Legacy B4 Super GT is a possibility... Love it or hate it, you cannot help to notice the 'sectioned' bodywork! No, I have no inside info, just cheap speculation.
  15. Not bad for a one-armed builder! I'm glad you didn't let that temporary situation stop you. I once did a snap kit of a '57 Chevy after I had surgery for carpal tunnel, I still managed to add all the BMF it needed. I bet your boats are more difficult to do then my Chebby!
  16. Nuttin' in scale... but I have a Fotki album dedicated to them in 1:1... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_longroofs_poss/ Plus, I'm sure I have more under the brand name file, I probably never copied it to my "longroof" album.
  17. Now that is something we don't see too often... completed!
  18. Jim, I think you could get away with using CA glue on painted PE parts. I always noticed that the fogging is a result of using too much CA. If a tiny drop was applied, I would think the 'fogging' would not crop up. Anybody else have comments?
  19. Interesting... nobody here knows how to make decals? I can do decals, but only dark colors over light surfaces. That is because I don't have an ALPS printer. Why not describe for us in more detail what it is you need, and I'll see if I can help.
  20. Actually, it reminds me of the SMP 3 'n 1 kits, with all those crazy "custom" parts. Kids would glue all that junk on, not because it looked good, but perhaps because 'it was there.' Wretched excess! Just like an old Roth or Barris creation.
  21. In part: I have a few pics of late-model topless Challengers... Here's one by West Coast Kustoms... I think the roadster is cool.
  22. Nice deuce!
  23. What's that? You're all madly in love with it? Well, in that case, here's a few more pics! Hey! At least it has a beer tap. Helps drown the pain. What a Freak Show!
  24. I'm working on the interior. I cannot for the life of me paint around the audio panel, or the climate panel, etc. The Charger Daytona has a body-colored panel these set in... I am trying to "build" this decal in Printmaster, as it is the only art program I have. Well, other than MS Paint, and I have no luck at that. The text and symbols are all wrong, but when I scale this down it won't be noticable. Do you think it will look OK when it's jammed down to about 3/8"?
