Paint-How much is enough??
Zippi replied to TransAmMike's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have been testing different paints and processes from all the info I've received and the videos I've watched on the interweb for the past 6+ months. I have a process which is two light coats and two wet coats. Even though it seems to be working ok for now it does seem to change each time I get the airbrush out. Sometime I get more orange peel than I would like and sometimes it's very light. It gets me to scratching my head every time I get ready to spray a body not knowing what the outcome might be. I'm still working on it. I seem to do better on the darker colors when spraying the lacquer clear on as I can see it going on and regulate it. -
Thanks for the info Bill-e-boy. You have a nice setup. I have a 2 1/2 car garage and keep it pretty nice do to the back that I keep my 49 Chevy pickup. Its a driver but more of a show truck so I can't take the risk of any over spray getting on the finish. Ill just have to deal with it but thanks for the info.

Nice looking Ranchero. Great paint job. Yeah, I'd say you've voided the warranty on this one.

Thanks man. Yup, It's getting the dreaded foil. Last model I foiled I had an issue with it sticking as others on here will tell you the same. I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

Got the airbrush out, mask off the sides of the 61 and shot some white on the inserts. Came out pretty good. I wrapped it up like a mummy but had to clean up some of the bleed through but came off with water. The foil should hide those rough edges. Hopefully.
