That is some good looking old school muscle right there. Nice color and those twin turbo's look ready to spool up to smoke those big ol meats in the rear. Nice touch with the detailing in the trunk. Great job man and nice stance.

Yeah that's looking pretty kewl. I like the finish.

What type of clear did you use? Looks more like mist coats to me. I'd clean it off good and give it a couple wet coats of the clear. If it's an emanel of lacquer (don't know about the other clears) you can wet sand and polish and it will look better.

Nice looking. I'm not as knowledgable about older kits as others on here so did you buy the model with the lights installed or did the orignal kit come with the lights installed?

Cayucos car show

That Hemi just looks so good setting in the business end of that 55 though. It ok to mix and match with old Classic's and Hot Rods. I had a Chevy 302 in my 37 Ford pickup street rod. We use to say "Ford tuff with Chevy stuff" ☺ -

Good looking Blazer. The body color looks great. Nicely done. -
Yeah we've got a looker here. That color combo looks really eye catching. The added rub strips make the bumpers look so much better. Nice job on the build.

Pretty kewl looking Fastback. I like the color and all the mods inside.

That's one slick looking wagon. Nice mods on the top section and that engine bay looks sweet.

Nice save on that one dude. Looks good so far.

Boy that green looks a little rough. Put it in the drink (Purple pond) for a while.

What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)
Zippi replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Haven't really decided yet Jim. As good as it came out I may just use some Novus 2 and call it a day. I think I'll give it a week to cure out. -
Well Mike....I think it's like my 1:1 49 Chevy pickup, I've never really be done working on it so I guess it's a never ending process. What else have we got to do anyway ☺
-
Well that looks pretty kewl. I'll have to slip this one to the Jolly ol fat guy in red ☺

Thanks for the info Craig.

Isn't that strange. Well....I do know from experience that you can spray Tamiya TS-13 which is a synthetic lacquer over enamel because I've done it by mistake one time but had no reaction.
-
Dang-it. I find something that seems to work good and now not so good. Well....I always do try and paint the bodies first thing before I start a build so maybe I'm good after all or buy a dehydrator. How much for a cheapo???

I'll share this story. When I was a kid and old enough to push my grandfathers reel mower (no engine) he let me start cutting the grass for him and would pay me 2 dollars a week. Now granted the yard was pretty small but to me 2 bucks was 2 bucks. Now my grandfather was set in his ways and had some rules about cutting the grass. Rule #1 was to tell him when it got to hard to push the mower because that meant he needed to sharpen and oil the blades. Rule #2 was never cut the grass down the middle of the rock driveway. Now rule #1 among the other rules he had it gave my grandfather time out in the garage, chicken coop, or the loom room so he could nip on the bottle so to speak. He had whiskey bottles stashed everywhere thinking my grandmother didn't know about them. Rule #2 was a little odd, he told me that the old 57 Studebaker leaked a little oil and by leaving the grass tall down the middle of the driveway would wipe the oil off the bottom of the engine while driving down the long driveway to the garage. Did it work....I couldn't tell you. Just never crawled under the car even though it was my first car when I turned 16. Moral of the story I guess is I always keep the blade on my lawnmower sharpened and check for any leaks on our vehicles and last but not least, although I don't hide whiskey bottle around the house I do hide money from the wife. Guess I learned something from my grandfather.

Not much going on today on the Impala. I'm painting the seats with Anita's (Acrylic paint) Aegean Blue and the inserts with Anita's Gloss White. First coat is on.

Say Dave....what's the cure time on the Testors enamel paint after airbrushing it before you can do anything with it?
-
Yeah buddy. We drove the piss out of that truck and it never broke down.

Thank you Jim.
