Waiting with great anticipation. I'm sure it's going to be great! -
Thank you David, this is a great idea and I will definitely go that way. I have to decide if I should go with one of the nice Fujimi hoists or something more "home made" which might fit well into a more rustic style shop. BTW the car exists for real. I'm doing a 2014 era model of the car as it was discovered before the extensive renovation. Here's epic of my body in front of the picture of the car as it was then:

Looking at general placement of the bigger pieces. I plan to develop an engine assembly setup to dress up the center a bit. Lots of small tools, containers, boxes to do to fill up the shelves and benches etc...

One word: perfect! -
Beautiful work David. There are so many great projects going on here. I love your b&w photos. A London foggy night feeling to them. Fabulous!

thank you all for the nice feedback. Sorry if the pictures are not very crisp, I'm trying something new and need to fine tune it.

Steve, you are right these Fujimi tools are great with a lot of delicate details. I also have a set of AMT garage tools (#2) and they are nice but in no way equal to the Fujimi. I'd love to see some of your weathered tools and feel free to post pics on this thread. It's all about learning from each other

Thanks guys, i'm learning that with a diorama each piece needs to be treated as an individual project with care for finishes and weathering. Can't rush through it and set any kind of timeline.

Awesome! -
Some close ups of a few completed tools. All 3 from Fujimi kits. I scratch built the support for the acetylene /oxy tanks as well as gauges. Paint and weathering: primer, silver coat, color coat, sanding / scratching through, Vallejo washes and environment products, Tamiya weathering masters.

I built this one about 4 years ago. One of the first cars I did when I started in the hobby. MPC Pepsi Chevelle body (molded in blue thank you very much) over a Monogram GM chassis Finishes brush painted: Vallejo off-white, my own mix of green for the chassis and Future for clear coat Powerslide decals are always perfect but these were the exception. They were very brittle and cracked in many places. I mixed color to match and dit dozens of touch ups. Not perfect but in the end a reasonable result.

This is a lot better than my bug screen & tape job. Thanks for sharing this great tip. Don't mind if I copy this on my next project? -
Beautiful build. How did you make the real spoiler with all these rivets? It's amazing!

Wow, that's taking care of detailing. I don't really understand how you did the last step of the window net but it is fantastic! -
The long blue bench and wood pallets are scratch built but the other tools come from Fujimi and amt tool kits.

David, Thank you for the advice. I have been following Hooper & Co lately. Mighty impressive...mind bogling! Thanks, Pierre

This is my first attempt in fabrication of a diorama. Advice from fellow modelers sought Working on this badly neglected stock car I was thinking to put it in a shop as it is about to go through a massive salvage operation The car exists for real (showing the finished chassis below) The diorama is completely fictional. First floor for the car, benches, tools and shelves, mezzanine would be a little official & rest area The base structure and layout is advanced at this stage and I am currently fabricating tools and benches This is a lot of work but a lot of fun since this is all new stuff for me Looking for help on where I can find some of the little office type of stuff like coffee pots, food, magazines, newspapers, etc. Here's what I have made so far. Again looking for any kind of advice from all of you. Thanks

Andretti Ford GT 66 Lemans

Thank you for showing this great build. You pointed out that you feel the stance is a bit high which made me understand why these Meng look a bit different vs the Fujimi. I had the impression the men front fenders were too much "bulged up" but if we could compensate by dropping the ride and pulling the front track width a bit it would look just right I love your builds, they always look so realistic! -

Can't wait to see the final result. The amount of work you had to put into this massive transformation is impressive. -

Thank you all for your nice comments. I will certainly post more builds on this site in the future. -
Hello all, This is my first posted subject on MCM. Excited and a bit nervous. MPC body over stretched AMT T-bird chassis, Polar Lights 429 engine. Excellent Powerslide decals. I also used the wheels and tires from the AMT T-bird chassis. All finishes are brush painted. I mixed my own colors using Vallejo and the clear is just Future Metalized parts are a mix of Tamiya silver and flat gray plus Vallejo washes plus some Tamiya weathering master to give it a weathered appearance I used Tamiya smoke and a flat varnish on bumpers also to give it a bit of a weathered effect. Thank you for looking
