  1. There is no better looking Darkside NASCAR than the big 63-64 Fords. You have absolutely nailed the look with that low to the ground ride and rich with detailing. Some day I need to learn to do hood pins like you do. What I am most impressed with is your mastering of brush painting a pearl finish. Sensational my friend! Always a joy to follow your builds sir!
  2. Gorgeous build Justin. I love that color on a Ferrari. The 246 Dino is one of the best looking mid-engine Ferraris ever and your build pays hommage to that Nice to see it in company of your beautiful SWB in the final pic. So hard to find a decent SWB kit these days.
  3. This is a stunning model. The level of detailing and finishes are amazing resulting in "through the roof" realism. Did you add a lot components to this model or is it all included in the MFH kit. Lots of very detailed elements on that beautiful replica.
  4. Wondering if pink bleeds through like red. You might have to do a silver layer before the white. The headlamp screens are seriously good. Can't wait to see the engine come together with the detailing.
  5. Beautiful work Paul. The engine/trans could be displayed by itself. It is spectacular. Very inspiring watching this build. I hope someday I can find the right kit to do a 1/24 version of this historic racer.
  6. So many great kits out there but if I have to choose amongst the ones I actually built? Accurate Miniatures Corvette Grand Sport. Super challenging but the casting of the body is spectacular.
  7. Welcome back David. That chrome needs a lot of TLC... but salvageable except the headlamps. You might want to get aftermarket units as these are so prominent on this car.
  8. Amazing build. You have done extensive work with finishes and weathering and it makes the model look incredibly lifelike. Simply superb!
  9. I missed that one when you first posted it. Another beautiful build from your bench and once again a beautiful way to display it. I always loved the Esprit. Classic, elegant lines compared to today's huge and busy mid-engine supercars.
  10. Engine looks... real! The various tones of metal and washes gives it just the right look.
  11. How wonderful and imaginative. The weathering is very, very impressive.
  12. Wonderful project Harald. I love what you have done with the 31 MM diorama and will follow this one with great interest. Just looking at these cars we can feel the danger of running them at these extreme speeds.
  13. Never seen a limit and I've posted a bunch. What is great is posting directly (no hosting site required). I just set the large format (one down from real size) on my iPhone and voila!
  14. A wonderful build of a unique car (one race only I think) when all F1 cars were unique and the momentum changed from race to race. A wonderful and exiting era.
  15. Congrats Hanjo! This is one big, beautiful, not red Alfa. The finishes and detailing are so good it looks like a 1/1 car.
  16. Thank you Philippe, Hanjo and Gary. I never thought about digging up for period artwork as reference. This Géo Ham drawing is great and I will look for more. This is so helpful.
  17. This is formidable Andy. So if I get this right, same car that won Italy in 32 but as it was when it ran at Indy in 46 &47. Now the big question, will you do it as it would have been prepared for the race or current state as presented at Amelia Island i.e. full patina treatment. I vote for full patina. Start date for my build is scheduled October 1, hope we can build in parallel.
  18. Dominant GP car in the early thirties. Fernando shows it as the 32 Italy winner with Tazio at the wheel. But that would be too obvious right?
  19. Looks very good JC. The kit is very good and with your research and skills you are making the required adds or mods to achieve the best possible replica. A joy to follow.
  20. I agree with you. We just don't know. What shades of red and yellow? Red or black wheels? Color of passenger compartment tarp? So it is up to me. Stay tuned.
  21. The body looks awesome Dave. I love all the work done on panel definition and addition of all the little hinges. Super nice!
  22. The dashboard is formidable Andy. I like how you do it with drilling through the panel and inserting the gauges from the back side. Did the gauge rings, knobs and switches come with the kit or a different source?
  23. Looks beautiful Phil. I think using HRM A arms will give you room for the headers. I should have done that. Moving the engine down, also a good move. Thinking about why the taped the hood louvers...If I recall correctly they did that to protect carb inlets from the rain.
  24. Hi Bruce. Both of these were very simple curbside kits with a part count of about 30. The body on the Chaparral was spot on and I just added modest mods and detailing. The Ferrari body was not very good so lots of work and detailing was added to this one. I've done w.i.p. on both on this forum.
