  1. Dominant GP car in the early thirties. Fernando shows it as the 32 Italy winner with Tazio at the wheel. But that would be too obvious right?
  2. Looks very good JC. The kit is very good and with your research and skills you are making the required adds or mods to achieve the best possible replica. A joy to follow.
  3. I agree with you. We just don't know. What shades of red and yellow? Red or black wheels? Color of passenger compartment tarp? So it is up to me. Stay tuned.
  4. The body looks awesome Dave. I love all the work done on panel definition and addition of all the little hinges. Super nice!
  5. The dashboard is formidable Andy. I like how you do it with drilling through the panel and inserting the gauges from the back side. Did the gauge rings, knobs and switches come with the kit or a different source?
  6. Looks beautiful Phil. I think using HRM A arms will give you room for the headers. I should have done that. Moving the engine down, also a good move. Thinking about why the taped the hood louvers...If I recall correctly they did that to protect carb inlets from the rain.
  7. Hi Bruce. Both of these were very simple curbside kits with a part count of about 30. The body on the Chaparral was spot on and I just added modest mods and detailing. The Ferrari body was not very good so lots of work and detailing was added to this one. I've done w.i.p. on both on this forum.
  8. Mary Kay Ferrari, knifed spare tire, page 13... what can go wrong right?
  9. Another gem in the works Gary. Wonderful and unique GT40.
  10. The wife says I'm wrong many times a day...but I think she's wrong about that. ?
  11. I think I saw this one on eBay. Not much about it looks like it should. It would be big commitment to make it work...
  12. Beautiful work as always Mark. You are working this one at warp speed! What are you using for seat belts, they are amazing?
  13. Don't give up man, almost there!
  14. I'm sure you will Andy. Always a bit touchy to pick the right red tone for a vintage Ferrari, between old pics or newer pics of restored cars. Look forward to your feedback on the effect of pink primer on final color. Never tried that myself.
  15. The one race wonder, spitting debris on cars attempting to follow. Gordon Murray at his best! Look forward to following your work on this one!
  16. Looks very very sharp Dave. I'm always amazed to see what you can do with these rough 3D printed bodies. Wonderful build!
  17. Woah...stop it right there. I thought Canada was in charge of paint. Change of plans? ?
  18. Stance on both cars look very good. Doing these mock ups at the very first stage is the way I also do it. You miss on that and the build is ruined. Always a pleasure to follow your build process. Thanks for sharing it.
  19. Hard to see from the picture if it is the windshield or roof that is off. The roof may be a bit twisted and that is an easy fix with hot water dip and reshape. Careful with water temp though as styrene used by Heller can melt if the water is very hot. You might also want to look at the roof front edge that looks to have quite a big vertical step compared to the real car. Wonderful build so far!
  20. Looks good Phil. I kept doing test fits chassis to body every time I would add components and frequently found little interferences here and there. Patience and care are the order with this kit but It looks really good if all is done to fix these little bugs.
  21. That looks like fantastic and very detailed kits. Have you decided if you will do a street or race version? With your skills I think the mods to do a Le Mans racer would be doable...
  22. So cool to see each builder coming up with his solution set. I would have chickened out to an Evergreen construction but real builder chooses more noble materials..like brass! Well done Andy. Looks really good.
  23. I'm running out of superlatives to describe your work Daniel. It takes me about 2 months to do a project that I see as pretty good but when I compare it to the extensive research, fabrication and detailing of this fabulous replica no wonder it requires up to 1 year to get it done.
  24. Great model Gary and most of all really nice reading the info explaining the creation of this car. The MkIV raced in 67 is the evolution of this car right?
