The wife says I'm wrong many times a day...but I think she's wrong about that. ? -
3D printed Cobra Daytona Quality ?
Pierre Rivard replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think I saw this one on eBay. Not much about it looks like it should. It would be big commitment to make it work... -

Beautiful work as always Mark. You are working this one at warp speed! What are you using for seat belts, they are amazing? -

Don't give up man, almost there! -
I'm sure you will Andy. Always a bit touchy to pick the right red tone for a vintage Ferrari, between old pics or newer pics of restored cars. Look forward to your feedback on the effect of pink primer on final color. Never tried that myself.

The one race wonder, spitting debris on cars attempting to follow. Gordon Murray at his best! Look forward to following your work on this one! -

Looks very very sharp Dave. I'm always amazed to see what you can do with these rough 3D printed bodies. Wonderful build! -
Woah...stop it right there. I thought Canada was in charge of paint. Change of plans? ?

Porsche 356
Pierre Rivard replied to afx's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Stance on both cars look very good. Doing these mock ups at the very first stage is the way I also do it. You miss on that and the build is ruined. Always a pleasure to follow your build process. Thanks for sharing it. -
Hard to see from the picture if it is the windshield or roof that is off. The roof may be a bit twisted and that is an easy fix with hot water dip and reshape. Careful with water temp though as styrene used by Heller can melt if the water is very hot. You might also want to look at the roof front edge that looks to have quite a big vertical step compared to the real car. Wonderful build so far!

That looks like fantastic and very detailed kits. Have you decided if you will do a street or race version? With your skills I think the mods to do a Le Mans racer would be doable... -
So cool to see each builder coming up with his solution set. I would have chickened out to an Evergreen construction but real builder chooses more noble materials..like brass! Well done Andy. Looks really good.

Ford J Car Le Mans April Trials

Great model Gary and most of all really nice reading the info explaining the creation of this car. The MkIV raced in 67 is the evolution of this car right? -
1/24 Cobra 289 FIA / USRRC wheels
Pierre Rivard replied to Hoffman's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I juste received the extra sets from Jason, scaled at 17mm which to me is the sweet spot to represent a 15 inch wheel. Picture below shows comparison to the HRM wheels. The HRM are mounted on their dedicated tire and Jason's wheels are mounted on 1/24 Revell Cobra 427 tires. Thank you Jason, these wheels are superb. And the spinners are perfect! -

What troubles me the most about this is that you were just 4 years old in the mid seventies. Lucky Sonny! ??? -

OK Tomasz, these pictures of the real car are wonderful but now can we see the 1/12 model of it? Kidding aside this is truly incredible work. -
Absolutely gorgeous! 10/10

No need for an apology Noel. all that discussion is quite instructive while I am in the research phase for the Alfa project. I should have posted when ready to start building but I could not hold off showing this promising kit. Mr. Pinto sent me a mail (through E-bay) when I purchased this kit. It was portrayed as the 34 winner but he simply offered I choose which version I would prefer 1931, 32, 33 or 34 LM winner) and kit it for me. I am sure that if you contact Mr. Pinto he will get you that 251.

The tank looks really good. You painted over the rivet transfers right? I've been looking for a way to do rivets so thanks for showing this method.
