Your 51 Bel Air is looking great. I just started this kit, but yours will have much more detail than mine. I'm almost done with the engine, going to try and dirty it up a little.

1950 Ford Pickup

Looks great Bob. Nice job. -
Thanks guys. I just started building on the engine. I'll watch out for the problems. I have been known to throw it back in the box if I get frustrated with it. Steven, that blue on blue looks awesome, and that bittersweet color is beautiful.

I've never done a 2 tone, maybe I'll try it. Thanks. Thanks Joe.

Next victim. 1951 is my birth year, and I remember my Dad owning a 51 Bel Air sometimes in the late 50's. Don't remember much about it, I think it may have been black. I'll build this one straight stock OOB, but I think it will look good in blue. All comments welcome, thanks for looking.

1950 Ford Pickup
bluestringer replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Just found this Bob. That 50 Ford is looking sweet. Great color, and the height is perfect. Excellent work my friend. -
This is the one I have. Model 750, 4.8 volt. Around 18-20 years old. It runs pretty slow on low, but I found I can make run even slower by only half charging the battery. The battery is still good, but if I ever need another one they are cheap on ebay.

This is my third build of this little roadster. Great kit. I went with a military theme this time, using decals from the 30 Ford Coupe kit. Paint was Tamiya Deep Green and Cockpit Green. I think it came out good, but always room for improvement. Had fun building it. The windshield frame was warped in this kit, but not as bad as the other 2 kits I built. I was able to make it work ok. All comments welcome, and thanks for looking.

That is a beautiful Camaro. Nice work. Which Revell kit is this, I think there were several.

How big is your... stash?
bluestringer replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've been back in the hobby for about a year and a half now. I've built around 30 during that time. I have 15-20 in my stash. I have now started getting into the military aircraft kits, so I'm buying both cars and planes now. -

I like it. Will have to try it.

Thanks Greg. Thanks Jim. Yea, it went well with the tire decals, I was surprised. I've learned a little since the last time I tried it.

Thanks Bob.

Ok, got the tires ready. Going with plain black rims with whitewalls. Also used the decals on the seat and interior panels. The last 29 I built I tried using the decals but messed them up. They came out good this time, I used some Testors Decal Set I picked up at HL. Seems to work ok, smells like vinegar, wonder if I could make my own mix.
