  1. That's where I got the idea. Instructions has a customized drag version shown, but no details on building it. Not sure if it can be built without the fenders, but I think I'm going to try it. The big ole meats I got are the street tires out of the 67 Chevelle Pro Street. I will need to come up with someway to mount them, looks like I will need a longer metal axle.
  2. Deleted..........wrong section.
  3. Got some engine work done and painted the body with some Ceramcoat Wedgewood Green. All comments welcome.
  4. Looking over the parts I see there are two complete engines in this kit. A high performance engine and what looks like a stock engine. But no other parts to build it stock.
  5. I had mine glued in also. I got the shock into the rear end section first, then carefully pushed it into the frame position. The rear end actually lifted up slightly but stayed glued.
  6. I was test fitting when I got them in place and they were so tight I decided not to remove them for gluing. They probably didn't need any glue, but I took a toothpick and applied a small amount from the backside of the frame and around the mount areas.
  7. They did seem to be a little too long. They have to be manipulated just right to get them on. I had to lift up the rear end spring assembly very slightly to get them into position on the frame.
  8. Thanks everyone for the comments.
  9. It looks great Bob. Nice work. I had a problem with the rad hose on mine also with the blower engine.
  10. Had a few problems with the build, but here it is.......all comments, critique welcome.
  11. Decals came yesterday. I still need to finish up the interior, then I'm done. Pay no attention to the messed up trim work. body man was drunk that day.
  12. Love it. My first car at age 17 was a 66 Impala SS 396, muncie 4 speed, 325 hp. Had a lot of fun in that car, Saturday night grudge matches at the local drag strip, cruising the streets. Wish I still had it. I've been looking for this kit so I can try to do a replica. That's a beautiful blue and the weathering is great. Nice job.
  13. It's looking great Bob. I like the interior, I think the black floorboard is a good contrast to the blue and white. I had trouble with the foil when I tried it on the 57 gasser, have not tried it again yet. Hope you get it worked out. I had also read somewhere about using Elmers glue or Mod Podge? to help it stick.
  14. Looking really good Bob. What are you using for plug wires?
  15. I'll be starting this soon. Something a little different for me. Never built one of these, but looks like a simple little build.
  16. Well my decals didn't get here today. Probably be Monday and I'll be busy most of next week, so probably will not have time to get them on and finish up the Gasser. I'm going to be starting a new build after that. Something a little different for me. WIP will be in Other Racing.
  17. Need to get back on topic I guess. LOL. I also use floor polish for my clear coat, but I'm using the new name stuff. I apply it with a sponge brush.
