Very nice Bob. Looks great. Love the color combo.

Thanks. Finished it a few days ago, it's in the under glass section. It's a nice kit, I had no problems with it.

This looks cool Bob. Looking forward to seeing it. I don't think I've seen this kit in my local HL, but I'll be looking for it next time I'm there for the 40% off week. -
Thank you. It's DecoArt craft acrylic called shimmering silver, got it at Hobby Lobby.

Went with this Apple Barrel craft paint bright blue. I'll put the decals on and brush on a coat of floor polish, should look ok....

Looks great. You did a good job despite the problems you had. Haven't started mine yet, waiting to hear from Revell about that windshield frame.
-
Looks really good Bob. I will check it out in the under glass section. I used that form you posted and sent Revell some photos of my windshield frame about 2 weeks ago, have not heard back from them.

Picked up the GremlinX from Ollie's. Got the Charger Stock Car from ebay. Haven't decided what decals I'm going to do on the Charger yet.

Motor's Manuals
bluestringer replied to bluestringer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got them for keepsakes only. I will never use them. Just remember seeing him using them a lot. I also used them some back in the day when I was younger, and learned a lot from him on how to maintain and repair my vehicles. I'm 70 now and I don't do much mechanic work anymore. -
My Dad passed away last week. He was 99. Most of his life he was employed in the forestry industry, first working in his dad's sawmill operation and later his own logging outfit. He was also a shade tree mechanic, always working on some type of vehicle from large trucks to lawnmowers. Friends, family and others would always come to him when they needed any repairs, rebuilds, etc. I remember he had a bunch of Chilton's and Motor's repair manuals. Going through some of his stuff I found these. They are in fairly good shape except for a old musky book smell. The truck manual seems to be from 1968.
