  1. Engine is ready to install. The first 2 pics show how it fits the next pics are the 1:1 engine. I will plumb the a/c heating and radiator when it's in. Also need to add alternator wire and fan belts. Thanks to any one who is following along. Comments are always welcome!
  2. Very impressive. Right down to the very realistic aluminum weld beads on the valve covers and headers.
  3. Interior is done. First pic is the 1:1 truck and next pics are my rendition. The door handles and window cranks were carved out of the finned valve covers from the 427 in the amt 32 ford phaeton. Seat is a combination of amt 53 f100 and revell 32 ford 5 window coupe. Next up, the engine.
  4. Attached are my "final" rendition of the heidts mustang ii with power rack and heidts 4 link rear end that are on my 1:1 truck. Had to redo the kick panels on the interior so after the paint dries I will reassemble the interior and send a few pics.
  5. I never knew a "stock" 49 Ford could look so good. Nice work on the window trim. You did it correctly by simulating black rubber. If it were my build I wouldn't hesitate to take it to a contest or 2.
  6. It's up on all fours. I think I will do the interior next.
  7. Nice weathering. Looks very realistic and in scale.
  8. Hi Steve. Just ran across this thread. Nicely done! Love the interior and dash work. Very tasteful.
  9. Nice detail work on the frame. I am going to steal your procedure for making u-joints. Very clever and realistic. I need them on steering columns on my 1:25 car builds.
  10. Thanks Francis. I appreciate all your support! I am keeping close tabs on your incredible Dodge truck. Perhaps we will meet at some event some day, maybe Salt Lake.
  11. Your metal work is so perfect that it's almost a shame to paint it!
  12. Nice rack!! Your use of o rings for the boots is very cleaver. Glad you are back at it.
  13. Awesome work. Outstanding detail work for such a large scale. My guess is that 1/8th scale is very unforgiving so to have such accurate attention to detail as you are displaying in this scale is truly a testament to your talent.
  14. Beautiful dash!!!! Looking forward to the front end assembly update. (I look forward to all your updates.)
  15. Got tail lights and tailgate mounted. Tail lights, mounting brackets, bed strips and tailgate hinges carved out of aluminum. Box is revell 50 ford, fenders are widened amt 53 ford, tailgate is modified amt 53 ford and wood is basswood with cherry stain and many coats of clear lacquer. Top pics are the 1:1 truck and bottom ones are my rendition.
  16. Hey Francis. You must be close to getting this masterpiece completed. Stay the course my friend!!!!
  17. Hi Rusty. Thanks for the feedback! I glad you like it. If you have specific questions about anything feel free to ask.
  18. Thanks for the feed back and thanks for looking!
  19. Thanks for looking out for me! I plan on displaying it on the air cleaner only when I am with the truck after the motor has cooled down.
  20. If all you talented builders show up I bet it will bring a record turn out. I wouldn't miss it!!!!
  21. Can't go wrong with red! I like the coil overs you came up with. Nicely done
  22. Interior is looking very nice. The piping looks to be worth the effort
  23. Hi Ian. Thank you for looking in and sharing your comments. It means a lot to me that you were able to pick up a few tips from my thread. I took a peak at that beautiful dragster of yours. Absolutely stunning!
