  1. Thanks Jim! I’m glad I could help. Have yourself a merry Christmas today.
  2. Thanks guys! Hope you all are having a nice Christmas Eve. Tony, sorry to hear your body was warped as well. Would’ve been nice to have the plaid seat patterns on the decal sheet though.
  3. You’re correct, it does. I can PM you a couple comparison photos of the kits’ different tanks if you’d like. I forgot if they look similar enough to just cut out a monogram tank and put it on the MPC chassis or not.
  4. You’re correct Bob. The new Hot Wheels kit was first issued as Bigfoot 10.
  5. This is a Christmas gift for my stepdad to open tomorrow. He used to have a yellow BRAT in high school. This is a replica and will be a surprise to him. Most of the work on this model was done in the last week. Nothing like a deadline to motivate somebody. The body was warped so the whole truck sits kind of funny, but the 1:1 was rolled up in the mountains, so I’d say it’s fitting.
  6. Ah, copy that. My mistake. Like I said, it’s real challenge to find anything to nitpick about them, haha.
  7. If only you had a bunch of 1:25 LTD wagons...
  8. It’s hard to criticize a model when they look that good! That foil work is beautifully done. Only thing I can think of are the exhaust tips on the T/A; I usually hollow the tips out and paint the inside of the hole flat black. Some guys get real jiggy with it and use small aluminum tubing to simulate tips.
  9. Quite some nice lookin’ bowties you got there!
  10. Back in August, Round2 was asked about a 454SS reissue on their youtube channel. I did some digging and found that old comment and Round2’s response: I’m not sure if Round2 was talking about the GMT400 tooling in general or the specific 454SS (short bed so different chassis plate) tooling.
  11. Standard they came with one tank on the driver side. Dual saddle tanks were a popular option. What confuses me is that MPC tooled the chassis with just one tank and on the passenger side.
  12. Is that a completely separate tooling than the 92-96 Bigfoot truck? IIRC the 87-91 monster truck was reissued as the Destroyer II as well.
  13. I thought about getting one, but I’m betting that Round2 is gonna do a Bigfoot reissue soon and that’s when I’ll get mine. Sort of like when they reissued the GMC General as a Coke release and then a while after they released it with retro box art and factory stripe decals.
  14. The bumper does hang a little lower than the rockers stock. Either trimming the bumper or putting ground effects on the rest of the truck would get it all even.
  15. That body is sitting a lot better now. The mock-up is reminding me of the Chevy from Red Dawn. The MPC kit depicts a K10 (4 wheel drive half ton) stepside in Custom Deluxe trim.
  16. Go for it man. As Ratt would say, Lay It Down. Does that kit come with the same lowered suspension as the Lightning kit?
  17. Great work on that grille and the cab. Do you plan on adding a fuel tank for the driver side or leaving the kit chassis as is?
  18. I agree Rob. A Lincoln like that would be a killer candidate for a lead sled project.
  19. Now imagine a ‘49 Lincoln with curb feelers on the front fenders.
  20. Thanks Rob. So it is a fisheye Lincoln. The black and white footage and the car not having any side trim really threw me off. Mark, Jeff, thank you for sharing information regarding these Lincolns. I find automotive history like this intriguing.
  21. Thanks Bob! Got the bed two-toned, this is how the body is looking right now:
  22. I was watching an old promotional film by Ford for their then-new car for ‘49, when I saw this (black convertible) driving alongside a sedan on a test track. I don’t recognize it, at first I thought it was a fish-eye Lincoln, but those are different. If I had to guess, maybe it was a styling exercise for the Mercury-Lincoln division? Any more knowledgeable folks out there who can identify it? It’s been bugging me as of late. And for those that like to watch these historic automotive promotional films:
