  1. What a nice old thread here... it’d be a shame if somebody interrupted its slumber. Roseburg guy myself.
  2. Always nice to see a snap kit get some love. I like the idea you have planned for it.
  3. Thanks, but if you’re hinting at an LS swap, no way man. I’ve seen those engines put into everything from prewar cars to Hondas. We gotta draw the line somewhere, lol.
  4. Never a thing as too many projects going on all at once, right? ...right? Haha. I think I’ll be fine as long as styrene doesn’t make its way into other parts of the house. When thinking of a way to put that Tamiya Mica Blue to a better use, I pulled out my copy of Revell’s most recent ‘97 F-150 Super Cab Flareside reissue and decided to put a custom spin on it. I want it to look like something out of an early 2000’s issue of Truckin’ magazine. I used the suspension from the Revell F-150 SVT Lightning kit and painted the frame in Rustoleum Navy Blue. The offset 5 spoke mags are from the Revell ‘65 Chevy stepside 2 in 1 kit, and I decided to use the body side swoosh graphics that came with the F-150 kit, albeit without the fat checkered stripe that goes above them. The decals will tie in with the two tone paint job on the body, the lower color being Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf: Still undecided on whether or not I wanna modify the ‘97 front end or use an SVT Lightning grille and bumper. I will for sure be using the supercharged engine from the Lightning, as well as separating the two tone with a pinstripe and using Tamiya smoke clear on the windows, headlights, and taillights.
  5. Nice! Is that real wood in the bed? I also dig those bowtie valve covers. It’s nice to see this kit built customized.
  6. I do too. Everybody these days is an expert. On the other hand, it takes actual work, time, and devotion to be a professional. And how often does that word get thrown around on the news?
  7. Drain pump on my washing machine went out, and my dog decided she needed to hurl on my bed last night. Not the best combination of situations.
  8. Has anybody tried these decals on a Flareside kit?
  9. Last year I built one, black frame with rustoleum Colonial Red cab and hood, with gray and white stripes rattle-canned on, and the bottom silver stripe was free handed with a sharpie.
  10. Round2’s creative wing trying to convince to the accounting department that a Rat Fink star destroyer kit is a good idea:
  11. Do you have any pics of your SuperCrew conversion? Sounds like a cool project.
  12. Received a package in the mail today. It was shipped out on the 6th from California, a few days later it arrived in Oregon, then for some reason it spent 5 days in Washington after that, switched carriers, and then came back to Oregon. Could’ve had it a week ago if the shippers hadn’t have made that slip up.
  13. You’ve been knocking these Volkswagens out of the park. And great job on that diorama.
  14. You can easily tell apart a CJ5 and a CJ7 by looking at the door openings. CJ5s’ door openings swoop up gradually to clear the rear fenders (like in the photo above), while CJ7s’ door openings look the same front to back (think about the shape of an upside-down staple).
  15. Not even a Hostess X-wing. Talk about dropping the ball
  16. Beautiful. The colors go together very well. Nicely done Dodge too.
  17. I started the wheels by spraying them with rustoleum satin brown, then I dry brushed the spokes, brush painted rims and hubs with flat black craft paint, sprayed the wheels with rustoleum semi-gloss clear, then used a silver sharpie on the rims. Kind of an involved process but they do fancy the truck up a bit.
  18. I bet that emu meat would fall right off the bone.
  19. Ford was actually pretty on the ball with most of its new products released in the 70’s, Mustang II, Pinto, downsized T Bird, ‘79 Mustang, Fairmont, etc. Most of their bigger models still proved popular for the time as well.
  20. Wow. That is one sweet T.
  21. I agree Carl. I’ve got an ‘80 F-150 Ranger and a ‘94 F-150 XLT, both 4x4’s. Both are handsome designs IMBO (in my biased opinion).
  22. With shipping that’s about $52 and $47, but still cheaper than what I’ve usually seen them go for on ebay. I got a sealed one last year for $50 +$15 shipping and was thinking I got a good deal compared to other listings.
  23. Boy I’d like to see that, but they usually go for 60-70 on ebay.
  24. Nice! Are you planning on scratchbuilding a roll cage for it too?
