Thanks Zippi, Let me know how the AMT /Lindberg is different. Did round 2 made any significant additions to the kit or is it essentially the same ?
-
I like the red too. I am looking forward to the finished car. So far it's looking pretty neat.
-
A beautiful kit from Lindberg. Not sure if this color was ever offered but one of my uncles had a 49 ford with a color close to that. Anyway I am happy with it.

A nice contrast of a classic car. Your set up for the photos is just as impressive. A great job overall. Simple. effective and just beautiful

Good idea Tony. I'll keep that in mind. -
My favorite firebird year from 67-68-69 . This one is spot on the color, the build and the outside pictures make it alive. The interior is beautifully executed. congrats Bob, you have a winner there. Somehow, I've always preferred Firebirds over Camaros in any model year.

Beetles have a special place in my heart, I have several builds of them. This one is the excellent Tamiya kit in bright yellow, it is fairly close to the one I owned back in 1979, although a 1969 with the full bumpers, the color is pretty close to the one I had. Alas almost all the pictures I had from my first cars are gone. I had a lot of pleasure with this car.

This recent kit from Heller is a far cry from the earlier models we are used to. This kit is a little jewel, at 1/24 scale it is small by the details are all there. Likewise for their Renault 4 GL . I added plug wires and the fuel line and some weathering. This a very close rendering of my neighbor's tractor when I was young. My father used to borrow it when our Chevy 50 pick up ( which I will post eventually) would get stuck in the mud. Some of the parts are really small but everything is in scale and the way they molded the parts makes it easier to detached them from the sprues .As for the color, depending on the plant they were made, they would use any grey color available locally. So you can't go wrong with the color.

Welcome to the forum Harry, By all means show us your models.

nice Mustang, good work. My favorite body style second to the 67-68 mustangs.

thank you all for the nice comments. I enjoy building subject that reflect what i was seeing on the roads when I was young. Being a small town boy, brand new cars were somewhat rare and there were more farmers than lawyers so old beaters were a common sight. Up here in Canada, rusty cars were more the norm than the exception and and rust protection was not a priority for car manufacturers, especially in the 70's. -
I wanted to put in dioramas but ended up in all the rest. I wasn't sure. I'll let the moderators decide if they need to move it. I am quite new here .? thanks for looking.

I have this kit in my stash, i will follow your build before I commit. The assembly being different , I will rely on your WIP to try to avoid any pitfalls although Tamiya kits are really well designed. You're off to a good start. Looking great so far.

Dominik, looking at your collection made thought that if I had another model of this car, it would be a perfect candidate to build a car in mid production, there is enough details to build a half finish car.Darn , I really miss those Jo-Han models. I still browse e bay in case I find one reasonably priced (one can only wish)

Nice find, lucky you. Always fun when you find what you looking for. I wish Tamiya would re-issue their older models, Karmann ghia comes to mind. Those on E-bay are too pricey for my taste. Congrats on your find -
Another little workhorse from yesteryear. Revell made a fine kit with this one , no fit issues. Finely detailed. I did some weathering and rust effects but otherwise out of the box.Not sure about the color though if it was factory correct but I liked the combo. The biggest mod was to open the grill and bumped it a little

This is the polar lights snap batmobile. Easy to build. No paint ,straight out of the box. Even if it is a simple snap kit , the finish and details are decent. The body shape also looks right to me.

Great take on the subject.Would have been interesting to see where we would be had Chrysler pushed the design further.I like the idea of a turbine police car, kind of makes me think blade runner. great build and great idea
-
Beautiful finish, it gives your model a subdue yet distinct look. Very well done.

Just fresh out of the workbench, this a little diorama picturing an abandoned Trabant . Although the Trabant was made of duraplast a composite material, the chassis was uni-body type and made of steel therefore it was prone to rust. I tried to reproduce the rust effects on the chassis. engine bay and trunk, leaving the doors and fenders and roof since they would not rust but they would still deteriorate when exposed to UV light and elements.

A beautiful challenger. A worthy successor to the legendary car from the 70's. clean, mean and beautifully photographed
