Any glue I should stay away from with resin?
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've been using that stuff on the right. I got it the last time I was at Hobby Lobby. I'm pretty happy with it but I learned not to use it on clear stuff . not pretty. -

I love the old ones. There was a guy around where I grew up that had at lease 2 of them. you would see them around from time to time. One day I saw one parked in a mini mart and was astonished at how tiny the wheels and tires were. They're like the wheels and tires on my snow blower. The old ones are really cool This should be a cool model. ?

What would YOU like to see as a model
Mike C. replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This list got me thinking. Do we ever do polls to get a feel for what us people that actually build these models want? We could have one for existing tooling. One for new tooling. One for cars, one for trucks, one for big rigs...........etc. Just a thought. -

I like that idea. I have a few spools of that stuff somewhere. -
I once heard a story that Sinatra heard Morrison and said "whos this kid rippin' me off. Find him and have his legs broken".? Supposedly, Morrison was quite flattered. I was always surprised that DCD was never a thousand times as big as the are. I always liked this performance. One of the rare times hes not playing some sort of medieval instrument nobody knows how to play anymore.

Huge Dead Can Dance fan. Used to listen to them back in the 80s and my girfriend at the time used to say Brendan Perry sounded like Frank Sinatra. ?

Thanks Mike. Anybody pick up the mantle after they ended?

I knew I recognized it. I used the same color on my 1/18 '72 GTO, my Myers manx and the rest of the can on a 1/18 Harley low rider. I'll have to take pics of the Harley. The GTO is still all apart.

Weird Tire melt questions
Mike C. replied to Hondamatic's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sometime the rubber reacts to the plastic or vise versa. I had some 1/18 cars with soft rubber tires that would react to the base of the plastic showcase I put some of them in. After some time ( few days, weeks) the tire would appear flat and when you would lift it off the base, the tire was fine but the it appeared to have melted into the base as if the tire was really hot but it was a chemical reaction. I would put a little piece of electrical tape over the melted section and it would fix this. I guess its hit or miss. -
If my grandfather was still around he could probably tell you. He ran a crane on Gwam during the war for the Marines version of the Sea Bees.

Is there an aftermarket source for these type of GM truck mirrors? I know the Deserter pickup has them in the kit but I wouldn't mind just buying the mirrors alone. opps. Probably should hav posted this in the tips section.. Sorry

Well I did it again. I paid a little too much for a vintage sealed Kit But I don't see Monogram reissuing this one any time soon. It will be a while until I get around to building it but it's definitely getting a set of those Fireball Super Swampers.

This thing is leaving us with more questions than answers. Maybe thats their plan, keep everybody in the dark to create a buzz to get us hooked. ? -
I'm liking that blue. May I ask what paint that is?

I have a little of the black flexible tubing for the clutch and ignition cables from my 1/8 Chopper build that I was planning to use for this (provided it looks good size wize). My question is is there a source for this type of thing. This would also help James. -

I didn't notice that. Must be a different one. One in the vid says 1/24. -

Finally found something on it. As I suspected, its a little pricy for my taste.............. https://www.amainhobbies.com/rc4wd-trail-finder-2-rtr-limited-edition-scale-trail-truck-rc4zrtr0035/p699696?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6amZkvj19QIVA6SzCh2gFAxFEAkYBSABEgKa7_D_BwE -
Totally forgot that the Jam had 5 live albums. Fire and skill was put together long after they were over.
