  1. The first album that took me from a kid who had no idea about music to a youngster that first discovered what rock n roll was was hands down Led Zeppelins first album. I had no idea what rock n roll was before that and it was a fluke because I ended up with a box of my older cousins records. Also in that box was Cream, Jefferson Airplane, Bowie, Doors, Woodstock and so on. Then in high school a friend gave me the vinyl, 3 record set of the Clash - Sandinista and it was I was blown away with this barrage of great music that was very new to me. After high school, we had just gotten cable tv and like any other kid I was watching MTV when this band from Scotland comes on called the Jesus and Mary Chain (Psycho Candy) and my jaw hit the floor. I was instantly hooked. Then I started to listen to a lot of collage radio (WPRB Princeton mainly) and discovered a little band from Boston called the Pixies that had just recorded Surfer Rosa and I haven't ever looked back.
  2. Great wheel/tire combo! ?
  3. '65 GTO Fontaine Blue, 389 Tri- Power, 4-speed, Torq Thrusts with redlines down old route 66 stopping at every roadside attraction along the way.
  4. I like the name Anti Establish Mint. ?
  5. Looks great! I have the Westfalia version waiting for me.
  6. Dennis and Lois. If you are a fan of rock n roll like me, you'll appreciate this 2018 documentary of these superfans. I had never even herd of them before I DVR'ed this one the other day. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7298260/
  7. I have the1/18 Autoworld in Grabber Lime. I changed the interior to black and gave it resin 5 slots. I like those louvers on the 1/25 model though.
  8. All of those parts would be nice in 3D resin. The winch bumper looks a bit like the Olsen Bros. bumper.
  9. Looked the store up on ebay. Something about shelling out 24 bucks to ship a $3 set of mirrors doesn't sit well with me. I could buy the entire Deserter kit for $17.00 at Hobby Lobby, get the same mirrors (already chromed) and still come out ahead. I'd also have al those extra parts for my parts bins. I think I just talked myself into a trip to Hobby Lobby next week. As much as I like to support the little guy, sometimes it's just a matter of $.
  10. I also saw an 80s 1/25 resin Blazer body . I would imagine you would have to combine it with the deserter kit (or similer) but i dont know where you wild source the rear glass.
  11. Those look nice and only $3.00 a pair but there is no mention of shipping cost to the U.S. Also website is really difficult to navigate. That can't be good for business.
  12. I found the vintage ad for the sidewinder.
  13. I wouldn't be at all heartbroken if somebody came out with a resin aftermarket hood like that.
  14. Wow! That catalog alone is quite a score. Brings back memories of the early days of off roading. I do remember that fiberglass hood from way back then. I noticed that they included that Hickey roof rack in my kit as well. I can also remember the Hickey sidewinder winch add they used to run in the publications of the time where they pulled that 1st gen. Blazer into a huge tree. Everybody was running KC daylighters with that yellow happyface. Different time back then. Thanks for posting.
  15. That's nice. I never knew that one even existed. If that's the concave hood that was made of fiberglass (I think) than I remember that one. Most definitely would get 2 of those if they ever reissued it but I'm not holding my breath.
  16. Already put those in my rough list for the next order. ?
  17. Mekons- Rock n' Roll
  18. I also go with the treat it like polishing paint theory. I have used this product in the past. It's made specifically for clear plastic like motorcycle face shields and the like. I must have had this bottle for like 15 to 20 years.
  19. The way I'm looking at it is there are so many of the earlier Broncos being reissued you would think the blazer would not be far behind given how popular the 1:1s have gotten these days. I do remember some talk about how undersized those door handles were. I see that now. Still excited to build this one. Be better if I could build more variations without going broke.
  20. So the mad mudder is all we're left with? Seems strange that they would completely scrap the original Blazer.
  21. So who owns the Blazer tooling? And why don't they reissue it based on the popularity of the squarebody Blazer now? I would certainly buy 1or 2 more.
  22. I thought Revell did that so you could get the interior bucket in during assembly but I was thinking the same thing. The frames are slightly different but the similarities of the cab portions would indicate some sort of a collaboration with Revell and Monogram . The same tires are in the Revell stepside kit.
  23. I was checking the Monogram Blazer to see what parts I could use from the Revell Chevy and GMC kits when I noticed the trucks are exactly the same in the front. Does that mean Revell owns the tooling for the Blazer too of vice-versa?
  24. Thanks Mike. ?
