  1. OMG, mall show circa...1982? Any particular reason you are looking for a resin hood versus a kit part? The Monogram '65 hood is pretty much what you have pictured.
  2. They aren't as bad as I remembered, but they definitely fall short in the realism department. There is a "step" for each tread row, leaving an odd peak at the center of the tire.
  3. The aftermarket custom stepside style bed is the big bummer with Revell's Monogram's(!??) Datsun 4x4.
  4. I think Adam was referencing this kit:
  5. Some comparison between the Revell and AMT 1/25 scale kits here: Honestly, I would ALWAYS pick up a Round2 reissue over anything reissued by either Ertl or RC2/Leaning Curve. The tampo printed tires alone make them a better value, and RC2 always skimped on the decals, so unless there's something specific regarding an earlier issue, stick with the Round2 reissues.
  6. It was shown as a future release in this image from Neil's 2013 post...: ...and I recall someone her mentioned the Lil Red Wagon was still in a vendors lineup at that point (or maybe later still), so I don't recall the exact details, but that may have factored into their decision somehow. I also wonder how they'd handle the IMC label. Would they re-brand it AMT in a retro style box? I have my doubts Round2 is interested in resurrecting the IMC brand, but I guess an e-mail inquiry to Round2 can't hurt, eh?
  7. Is this the (old) Revelll '55's Cal Custom scoop, part number X53(?)? (not the yellow scoop):
  8. Just this reissue.
  9. That's not Jimmy. I've purchased and picked up directly from that seller and can confirm. Bill, is this the number you called?: (414) 425-9592
  10. Looking at pics of the old (white) parts and the new 2014 reissue (blue) you can see where old parts (tonneau cover, speargun, whitewall inserts) were later replaced by the bed stakes and bench seat, and how the original inserts(?) must've been located or the gates re-opened to allow the SCUBA gear and surfboard to be molded again. The tonneau cover was a separate part in my 2014 reissue, so not sure how that particular part was handled, Below, in white, are the all-new parts (re?)created for the 2014 reissue:
  11. Considering Round2's willingness to include a paper base/display in a few of their recent reissues, it wouldn't surprise me if they included the original paper items again this time around. Not sure how (or even if) the Dodge Fever wheelstander has affected any potential Touch Tone Terror reissue, but still hoping this kit sees the light of day.
  12. Me, too. I mean, these are just, well, gorgeous:
  13. Here's a look at the new parts Ken mentioned in post #2
  14. Never polish metallics nor pearlescent finishes-- clear coat them and polish the clear instead
  15. I would start with the August 1970 issue:
  16. Your Wanted post is what got me thinking, then after some research I found there were few to no options, as most of the spoked wheels are too deep, as you mentioned. No, didn't know they existed, so I might look into them, thanks. I just wanted to find out if there was anything available in a kit which would come close to passing for stock wheel covers on the Cadillac.
  17. I looked that listing over, too...very cool. I'm not sure how well that rotary pored Mazda would do pulling a camper this size, but it's definitely oddball.
  18. Gotta be happening in 2018. The '50 Chevy pickup is a very good modern-era kit, and a great source for an early '50s Chevy inline six.-, and a great kit for kitbashing if nothing else.
  19. Yes, that's probably the best way to get a very, very close to the original Woody, but that leaves the builder one surfboard short. BTW, is the surfboard from the Blue Beetle and/or Blue Bandito the same as the 'board(s) in the original '30 Woody? I can't find a good, clear picture of the Woody's original front axle/spring piece, but it looks different than the stock piece in the '30 Coupe/Cabriolet kit, and the later Woody has the chrome plated, dropped front axle-- which axle did you use for your build, Dave? Old:
  20. It's definitely odd considering the kits you grew up building and mentioned having interest in on this forum, but the subject is very unique, so maybe outside the realm of most people's interests. I want to say the BBC ebgine was nicely done, and definitely better detailed than the generic BBC in MPC's 1/20 Popcorn Wagon, etc., but there were a lot of one-off race car parts which couldn't be used on a street car (four spoke, four-lug wheels for one), so not even as useful for parts swapping as the Popcorn Wagon, Ford vans, Corvettes, etc. Monogram 1/20 scale kits are dirt cheap at shows,. I recall one vendor had many of the Camaro and Corvette kits (and maybe even the Jeep, too) priced at $15, without any takers. The Monogram kits art least had a nice set of Goodyear Eagle GT radial tires, which are a nice upgrade from the mid '60s bias ply tires found in the MPC AMX/Corvette kits.
  21. Thanks, Mark. Were these used across the board in all of the JO-HAN F/C kits?
