  1. You'll need some Evergreen or Plastruct styrene strip in the same shape (and scaled down dimensions) as the actual trim (rectangular, half-round, etc.), some liquid glue (Tamiya Extra Thin Cement is my choice), and some slow setting CA-type superglue at a minimum. The liquid cement will help soften the styrene strip, making it easier to bend at the trim section corners, and the superglue will help those bends stay in position as you make your way around the perimeter. I'd suggest starting by drawing the trimmed out areas very accurately on the body piece with a pencil, then practicing softening and gluing the strip on some scarp plastic to get a feel for how quickly/slowly it works, and what the radius limits of the bends are.
  2. No, a hardtop was never included.
  3. Thanks, Mark, I just couldn't quite make out the tires in the posted image.
  4. There are also plenty if ridiculously skilled builders to keep all of us humble, so take a few hours to look through the in progress and completed builds. There's always room for improvement, so if you're willing to learn and put in the work, the sky's the limit.
  5. Are the four narrow tires the "MICHELIN X" tires also found in the AMT VW Rabbit, Scirocco, etc kits, like so?
  6. A quick look at the new Coca-Cola decal sheet: Decal sheet from 2012 reissue:
  7. Start at the 6:27 mark to skip over the toys. I find the kits and boxes on the on the pallet racks more interesting than what Chad is showing in these videos. I can see some 1/20 MPC Rupp Super Sno Sport and MPC '60 Corvette kits sitting there. The Coca-Cola decal sheet in the Pete kit appears to include many logos and/or slogans that have never been available previously, so I'm sure that'll be appreciated by some. The Ford GT is the only kit which contains the Coyote engine (albeit a bit simplified), correct?
  8. I like that the Ventiports are molded open.
  9. I was just comparing the engine parts from the Revell '49 Mercury Custom Coupe kit with those found in the Monogram '59 Cadillac Eldorado Seville kit (I'm 99% sure all three of the Monogram '59s share the same engine parts) and the valve covers are definitely not the same parts with the "CADILLAC" block lettering removed-- see attached image, please. The '59's valve covers have half-round recesses for bolt access and bolt head detail while the '49s valve covers are very generic and lack both the recesses and any bolt detail. In fact, I'd say the '49's engine is a bit more generic overall, and the details not as crisp nor as accurate as those found on the comparable parts in the '59 kits. If you're looking for the most accurate 1/25 scale '49+ Cadillac V8, seek out one of the Monogram '59 Cadillac kits. The Revell Parts Pack Cadillac 354 V8 appear to has ribbed, chrome plated no-name valve covers and additional 4- and 6-carb intake manifold options, but I still think the Monogram '59 engine is the best starting point.
  10. See Skip, this is why pinned posts aren't always effective...there may even be a Tree Hugger Dave sighting in this topic, so beware!
  11. There was one of their 3D printed bodies on eBay, and I think it was a member here who was selling it, so I didn't add a link, but it was the same price as direct from Shapeways, so no waiting.
  12. Thanks for sharing this...these (especially the animals) are amazing.
  13. Thanks. I found this topic after searching, too:
  14. Was the Cougar Country F/C the predecessor to the Dyno Don version?
  15. Look here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/forum/12-contests-and-shows/ and in the Calendar: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/calendar/
  16. Hmmm....an Original Art Series reissue with the above box art and I'd be happy. As cool as the model is, I doubt I'd ever build one, and I have more Appliance Apache wheels than I would ever use.
  17. I agree that posting this in the Wanted section would net better results, as many of the parts you seek can be found in kits...or another member's parts stash. Can you post a picture of the car you are trying to replicate? B&M made many different styles of shifters, and a few were available in kits, so being specific or posting some pictures of that you're trying to replicate in scale would be very helpful.
  18. I've seen the Brabham/Matra double kit from AMT, but never this one. I'm guessing both are repackaged kits. Heller perhaps?
  19. They area available on Shapeways as 3D printed models, too, through TDR Innovations.
  20. Thanks, Mark. How about these Uniroyal Fleetmaster Triple Tread tires? Solid vinyl, and they look like 1/32 scale tractor trailer tires: AMT/Ertl used these Goodyear tires in the 1/32 Ford CL-9000 kit, so not from that kit, but maybe earlier kits?:
  21. The body shell and interior tub are resting together in that image, but are separate parts, as shown in the exploded view of the parts:
