Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
Casey replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Or maybe just put the cap back on your bottle. You were no doubt already a bit giddy after sharing this news, but the schadenfreude is not a good look on anyone. Personal opinions aside, this news affects the vast majority of people who will read this, either directly or indirectly, and having seen what AMT and MPC went through under RC2, I have to think most of us do not consider this development to be a positive one. -
*edit* Better image of the Revell Miss Deal ('97 reissue) kit's tires, which, look to me like the same Pirelli tires show in post #1:

Has a 1/25 Toyota 22R engine ever been made?
Casey replied to Ben's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I thought you might click on the link, then contact the person who created the print files and ask if it could be printed in 1/25 scale. I wasn't thinking you wanted a Zingers! style look for your pickup project. -
missing versions in kits
Casey replied to 62rebel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know Bob passed away a few years ago, but how can this statement be true? Is he saying the Studebaker sedan body shell mold section already existed (but never released? I thought I read that story somewhere...) and was combined with the Parts Pack Hemi engine? What about the chassis/floorpan? Was that shared with another kit or used previously? -
English/French AMT Sunbeam Tiger Kit

Que hay de Espanol?: The instruction sheet was printed in Spanish, too: http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/573/depth-charger-aqua-autoplastico-version Revell re-packaged (maybe they were produced in Mexico, can't recall which) many of their kits under the Lodela name, too, again with Spanish instead of English: -

I could see this being very handy for cutting vinyl paint masks, similar to the flamed masks Testors used to offer. Might be really helpful for hood and trunk 'skunk' stripes on Chevelles, Camaro, etc., especially where uneven surfaces are involved. It sounds like the Cricut Explore Air 2 has both cutting and scoring tools, which would be very handy for making things like flanged, C-channel shaped framerails where you want everything to be made from one piece for strength and ease of 'assembly' (i.e. folding the flanges 90* and gluing the seam). Lots of possibilities, but not a slam dunk right out of the box I suspect.

I don't believe so, but...: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:644933 Valve cover looks a bit too 'blocky', but that wouldn't be too hard to correct. -

I think these are as close as you're going to find: https://scenesunltd.com/products/ford-bb-wheel-tire-set-m44 Danny, if you catch this, are the 1/25 version available now? -
Whoops, fixed. Same tires from you gasser wheel ID topic, JC, but I think I misread your post there: "It is a Pirelli exactly like those in the old Revell '41 Willys only slightly smaller." Here is the Pirelli tire you have/posted: If the one I have is from the "vintage" Revell '41 Willys (and I believe it is, based on looking at a few originals on eBay), were these tires used in any other kits? Does anyone have a Pirelli tire which looks the same but is slightly smaller, as JC mentioned?

Does anyone know which kit(s) these Pirelli tires were originally included with? The lone tire I have has "PIRELLI" at both the 12 and 6 o'clock positions, and something too small to make out at the 3 o'clock position in one side, and the back sidewall is blank. I would guess they are from a European subject, maybe from Revell or an AMT kit? I'm not even sure they are from a 1/25 sale kit, but they would scale out to just a tad over 15" diameter if they are. Measurements are: .925" O.D., .670" I.D. on the raised letter side, .650" I.D. on the non-lettered side

I know one member has mentioned using a die-cutting machine, but I'll leave it up to him if he wants to chime in. After a quick Google search I turned up this (appears to be ) helpful page showing a few of the machines: https://personaldiecutting.com/guides/digital-die-cutting-machines/ What do you or have you used them for David? Any images of what you've done which you can share? I could see it being handy for cutting parts or section of a larger assembly (say, a cargo box), but it seems you are limited by the uniform thickness of the medium, so you have to restrict yourself to either sheet goods (body panels) or use a thicker medium, then find out which parts match that thickness.

I'm not sure those would fit inside the Gremlin's interior tub given how much wider the Pacer is. Maybe someone who has both can test fit and report back how well they fit.

I think you should post this specific question regarding rarity in the Q&A section, or if you just want to discuss rare kits, in General Discussion. There are already a few topics there discussing "rare" kits:

62 Dodge dart questions
Casey replied to RichCostello's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The '63-'64s had a 3" longer wheelbase than the '62s, so plan on doing a tiny bit of lengthening if you use the Lindberg chassis. The '67 Dodge Coronet has the same 116" wheelbase as the '62 Dart ('62 was considered the first intermediate B-body), so the Revell '67 Dodge Coronet R/T or '67 Charger is probably a better choice, and the wheelbases should match up without modification. -
Basically the stock body shell with a molded closed hood and notched cowl over the generic (and too short, more like an Altered) chassis underneath: Here's what you're in for. http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/685/amt-t347-gremlin-funny-car

The instruction sheet page images in the link above for the HHH give us a good look at what's different, I think: Those elliptical windows in the rear panel are just screaming for the Round2 multiple color transparent parts effect.
