  1. It's a great pop song. Nothin' not to like about it.

  4. The lights, lenses, grille and top are pre-painted/printed, and the body shell is one piece with a separate hood: http://offroadmodels.proboards.com/thread/1576/revell-build-play-wrangler-photos
  5. Are those the same tires from the ("new") Monogram Black Widow kit? Tim, how close is the frame to the Rat Roaster's frame?
  6. There really isn't a great '70 Challenger model available. The 1/25 Revell R/T-T/A kit isn't horrible, but it's not steller, either. Same for the 1/24 Monogram kit-- good, but not great, and definitely showing it's age. The AMT kit is convertible only. No self respecting builder would slap on the supplied "roof" and call it a hardtop.
  7. Slightly better than the Druid Princess, and that's not saying much. Speaking of the Orbitron, I came across this article last night, and it made for some interesting ready. Not exactly something you'd want to read to the kiddies as a bedtime story due to some language, but not the worst, either: http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2009/03/orbitron-apocalypto.html
  8. Only two more months. That really snuck up quickly...

  10. Very classy. It looks like the original bases were thinner than the newer reproductions, too, but you're right in that quality will depend upon the thickness of paper/card stock which was used. I think you're limited by the need to fold and bend the stock, too, so maybe there is a limit to how thick it can be.
  11. Ice fishing shanties? I'm getting a "I'll show up some time in the next few weeks, but I only get paid in cash" owner/contractor vibe from this truck, so just about anything would work on the bed roofing materials, fence posts and fencing, crusty old engines and/or metal scraps...
  12. Can anyone who has this reissue tell me which year(s) are on the black, dark red, and yellow license plates, and which state's plates they are?
  13. If? When. The Stacy David Rat Roaster kit was just discontinued after a nice 2.5 year run, too. They say timing is everything...
  14. The 180* part is based on how the exhaust pulses are matched with the primary tubes-- I recall the Monogram NASCAR kits' headers were that way-- but I was commenting on how the headers merge and exit above the engine on the box art, but maybe they DO exit behind the engine, just not as high as pictured on the box: It seems to me the headers pictured on the box would pass directly through the center of the windshield opening, and that's not the case on the model.
  15. Was this engine supposed to be part of a car kit at some point? It seems odd Revell would create such an odd engine as a stand alone parts pack style kit. Is it a replica of a particular gas turbine engine? I can't find much info about it:
  16. I'm not 100% certain, but unless the driver is planning to roast marshmallows from the driver's seat, these "180 degree" headers are pictured incorrectly on the box :
  17. You will need the following paint to complete your model as shown: Testors Gloss Blue, Testors Gloss Yellow, Testors Gloss Red, and Testors Gloss Black Check.
  18. MAYBE!??? Please do it. Any and all would be more than appreciated.
  19. A correctly shaped grille.
  20. Thanks, guys. Tonight I added the leaf spring shackle brackets to the frame, set the leaf springs in position on the frame to make sure the rear spring eyes were positioned correctly, then checked how much clearance there was between the bottom of the engine and the top of the front beam axle: Not much. I have plenty of clearance, actually, since the height of the shackles wasn't even factored in yet, so no there will be no need to add a clearance bend to the axle. Before I added the rear shackle mounts I had to remove the mid-engine mounts, as they were sitting in the same spot on the frame rails. I will make a semi-circular mid-engine mount similar to the front engine mount, so that should provide mid-engine support and harmonize things a bit more.
  21. Let's not forget this kit started at Monogram in their SNAP-TITE lineup, so it was minimally detailed and had a low parts count (even for '80s Monogram kits) from the very start.
