  1. I was thinking the same thing. Beautiful work, Yuri.
  2. I think this topic has run (off?) it's course, and it's not trending in a good direction with the personal shots.
  3. I cold bend the brass strip over/around a piece of brass rod half way, holding one end with a pliers, then close the eye end by carefully bending it the rest of the way. Sometimes I have to cut off a bit of the bent end and re-do it, such as when I bend it too tightly, so there is some trial and error, and it's easier when there's an eye at only one end. Speaking of eyes, I bent the eyes on the front springs, but will have to wait to bend the rear eyes after I've established the rear spring brackets and make the shackles. I cut off the rear spring mounts which I previously attached to the frame, cut them down a bit, and made them the front mounts, using some modified H-beam styrene for the new U-shaped channel support/bracing: I still need to add some bolt detail to the brackets, and/or some flanges, too. I have the spring length set, so next step of to make the rear spring mounts and shackles, then bend the rear spring eyes on the main leaves.
  4. There probably will never be any in kit form, but there are aftermarket options to get what you want, or at least close to it.
  5. Even worse is the "custom" version: Really, really bad box art, even for the '90s, yet the kit inside (save for the custom parts) is excellent. Round2 will no doubt rectify this when they reissue it in the near future.
  6. You left out: The oblivious talkers who have no clue they are standing in the middle of the aisle, slowing down traffic in both directions. The vendor asking $30 firm for the open RC2 era AMT '49 Mercury kit The lonely vendor who will talk your ear off just to have conversation with a human The guy who forgot to bring a bag and is now bumping into everything and everyone while carrying his newly acquired 1/8 Lindberg Bobtail T kit The vendor who brings all sorts of odd items not even remotely related to the show/swap's theme
  7. The talk about the ex-Ertl Payhauler fitting the AMT Lowboy trailer had me thinking along those lines to be honest. I think even a vintage piece of equipment would work, since there are just too few existing options. That would be great, too, or really any refuse body which could be used with AMT's C- on LN/LNT-series Fords.

  9. I think this is what I was thinking of, but I think the person (John?) offered Ardun heads/parts, and not Chrysler Hemi heads (assuming those are the type of hemispherical heads Christian is looking for): http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/?showtopic=70944 http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/showthread.php?55795-Ardun-Kits-V8-V12
  10. Yes, in a few ways. If I want both the box art and the kit inside, I'll buy it. If I want only the box and not what's inside, I'll probably still buy it, and trade, sell, or part out the kit inside. Even better is when the kit inside is incomplete or missing. If don't like the box art but do want the kit inside, I'll buy it. If I don't like either the box art nor the kit inside, no sale. Examples of each above: 1) Good outside and inside: 2) Good box, bad contents: 3) Bad box, good contents: 4) Bad inside and out:
  11. If a company wanted to create an all new 1/25 scale kit of a piece of construction equipment, what would you wish it to be? It can be modern, vintage, a specific dump box, a trailer, front end loader, front discharge mixer, etc. AMT's Caterpillar D8H has pretty much been soldiering on alone as the only stand alone piece of construction equipment since the '70s, and I think the D8H design itself dates back to the late 1950s(!).
  12. I think Big Scale Dreams has or at least made what you're looking for, Christian. I would try to get in touch with him/them on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Big-Scale-Dreams/375990389085230 or through eBay: http://www.ebay.ca/usr/big_scale_dreams jb, was the person you are thinking of the same person who offered the 1/8 Lincoln V12 engine?
  13. Lots of positive comments about VCG here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=38019&hl=%2Bvcg+%2Bresins#entry904819
  14. It appears the "El Toro" Ford Torino and "Nitro Charger" '71-ish Dodge Charger funny cars shared the chassis and suspension with the Novacaine kit. Were there any other siblings to these three?
  15. Does this kit share the "multi-fit" chassis and other suspension parts with the semi-recent, previously released MPC Pepsi Chevelle? No instruction sheet .pdf on the Round2 'site yet for this Cyclone kit...
  16. Grease - Frankie Valli
  17. I was passing by Milwaukee Mack today, and snapped a few pics from the road:

  19. Very much so. I'll post a look at the contents soon.
  20. Other than the photoedited turn signal lights and headlights, it appears this is the model. Remember, this is a simple 20-ish piece kit aimed at entry level builders. Very simplified, and all it needs to do is look reasonably like a Jeep, and it does.
