  1. I see the thin stripe just above the bumper now, you're right.
  2. Maybe I missed it, but what is the yellow car(?) pictured at the upper right of Revell's image?:
  3. I don't think any of the Revell '53/'54 Chevy Sedans nor Sedan Delivery kits could be built 100% stock, but the stock grilles (at least the '54 grille is, the one shown on the built up/older box art) and door handles are present. IIRC there is a raised, straight axle with parallel leaf springs setup for the front end of the gasser version, but the stock front suspension parts are included, too. I don't believe this kit has been updated since the 1988 or so reissue which was molded in "Chianti red," like so:
  4. Yes, it appears there is a two-slot style turn signal mocked up on the LH side, just under the bumper, which would be difficult to see in actual traffic condition to say the least. No wonder it looks so good. I see the place in Lenoir, SC (?) carries the NASCAR conversion body and parts, too.
  5. Model Car Garage made a p/e set for this kit, and Slixx made a decal sheet for the Grumpy's Toy version.
  6. With headlight covers: Without:
  7. Should be out this fall. Looks very nice.
  8. That was always an interesting car, but from what I remember, was a bit too late to the game so to speak. Someone offered a resin conversion kit, or maybe just a straight up resin kit to make the King Cobra Torino, but I forget who. Can we get the ProModeler '70 Torino GT kit reissued as a 2'n1 with a King Cobra option, pretty please, Revell?
  9. Now that I see it it's from the "Seville" era, so it's a newer (1986?) kit. I guess they reissued them in the "flat" boxes though.
  10. Agreed...especially the non-related but often thought to be related Sonic 'Cuda.
  11. Look on eBay to see what they've sold for via the "completed items" tab.
  12. Nothing yet. I've e-mailed and asked, though.
  13. I think this one's run its course, no pun intended. Senna was great, no question, and F1 is a near-worldwide sport, save for the U.S., where it is not nearly as popular for whatever reasons. Let's remember him for what he did on and off the race track, and how he influenced and helped so many others around the world.
  14. On the intake manifold or the firewall?
  15. He built some great stuff, and his career is tied into model cars, too. Win-win for us. http://www.c-we.com/piranha/GeneWinfield.htm
  16. Unfortunately, that's still no guarantee that whoever participates is going to stay true to what they agreed to. These types of "pass it on" builds" are fun to watch, but they're risky, for the very reasons we've seen here. If each participant doesn't take their "turn" seriously, the whole project suffers.

  18. Wow, great story, and even better to hear you're sharing all those pics with everyone.
  19. I'm not going to call it nostalgia, but some of us get a rush when we step into a hobby shop which has old, long-discontinued kits and matching prices. Maybe it's the thrill of the hunt, hoping you'll find that JO-HAN '70 Rebel Machine kit for $24.95 still sitting on the shelf, or maybe it's just the chance to look at those vintage kits, hold one in your hands, and look it over, even if you never intend nor can afford to buy it. Anyone who's found an old hobby shop like this knows exactly what I'm talking about. A member here even mentioned stopping in such a Mom & Pop hobby shop a few days ago in the WDYGT? topic. Online shopping, and eBay in particular for model kits, is extremely convenient and provides most of what I'm looking for, but I still shop at my LHSs for kits and supplies, too, so there's room for both.
  20. If thickness doesn't matter, go to your local wireless (or at least U.S. Cellular) store and ask them to call you when they change out their store displays. They toss out huge sheets of plastic (might be ABS, though) when they change out their signage. I picked up four sheets of .125" (or so) sheet, approx. twenty square feet, for nothing.
  21. Looks like Round2 has even created a new "Silver Screen Machines" label for all of these movie-themed kits. Now if we can only get them to do a "Better Off Dead" '67 SS Camaro in this series...
  22. I've added a list to the existing Revell video link to post #1 in this topic, so once Revell releases more details and images of some of the new and modified kits, I will add them. I'm still a bit puzzled why they didn't include either of the VW Beetles in the slideshow video, though. Whatever happens on other forums, please don't bring it over here.
  23. OK, last chance for this one. Keep it on topic, please.
