  1. You are cranking out some quality builds.
  2. Hey Mark, should have remembered this earlier, but the windshield opening is not correct on this kit. The top needs to be opened up some, check it against pictures of the real car. Not a hard fix and the glass still works. I forgot how much I removed, but I used my steel calipers locked down and drug it across the top to mark it.
  3. That's it Mark
  4. I was going to say the same thing, but hesitated not wanting to mess up Mark's paint job. Duplicolor makes a white fine primer.
  5. I like that. Neat how you came up with the color. I am not too knowledgeable about this kit, but why did you use an aftermarket body on your build?
  6. Lots of times when I check in on in progress builds regularly I lose interest in them, but not this one.
  7. Great looking build. I have that kit but didn't do anything with it because of hearing everything poor mouthing it. You gave me some future inspiration.
  8. Another benefit from working on a glass surface is if you spill paint or super glue or whatever, clean up is certainly easier. I've been using an old window pane (thick glass) for over 30 years.
  9. I'm sure Duplicolor has it in their line since Dodge has been using it again in recent years. Auto parts stores would have it.
  10. No matter what brand, aerosol or air brush, I use lacquer based paints on the bodies. To me, it just makes things easier.
  11. If Ronnie was alive he would certainly be amazed and humbled at the work you and others have been doing lately on this forum.
  12. Good product. After it dries, you need to trim close to the decal as this creates a clear film.
  13. You can delete this response if you want. I really like it like it is and appreciate everyone's effort who is involved. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  14. You might try this. There is a hobby shop in Sanford, NC called Wings, Wheels and Waves. He does mail-order as MCW, selling paint and resin. He has scale pin stripe in his store. He might sell it thru mail order if you call or email him.
  15. You beat me to it, I was going to make some kind of Tucker comment. I think it looks cool
  16. I love it. I had a Chevette one time, probably the most dependable car I owned. Actually be looking at Craigslist and other places for one. I have a Chevy 4.3 V6 engine and think that would make a neat little swap.
  17. Like Ace mentioned, I would go to the extra effort to pin them.
  18. Hate to say it, but there's a lot of unethical people preying on model builders. I have never trusted sealed older collectible kits. If I consider one, I tell the seller that it will be opened in front of him and my money returned if it is not as advertised. I am a builder, so sealed kits don't have an attraction to me.
  19. Don't know if this is a help, but MCW is doing small jars of enamels now, has engine specific, metals and even a tinted carburetor color.
  20. Excellent build up of that historic car. You amaze me being half a world away from stock car country, but the desire that you have to create these models.
  21. Don't know too many kids that could have pulled that off.
  22. I always liked that car with the chrome cragers front and back. Just looks cleaner.
  23. Been following along and hope to start my build in the near future (Terry Labonte Stratagraph car). I understand all you did except the area at the top of the firewall to the dash face. Could you explain your modifications, maybe save me some headaches.
  24. Looks real good. Back in the day when the bodies were mostly factory, didn't change sponsor and paint schemes every week. The good old days of stock car racing.
