  1. Just stunning! Well done SIr
  2. Sometimes it's when things go awry that the coolest improvisations occur. If worse comes to worse, you can make it a two-tone top and it will still look awesome with that blue paint!
  3. Super tastefully done!
  4. That is hilarious! I too have projects I started that were to be stock builds, and years later they are unrecognizable as to where they began! But seeing your great build gives me encouragement - it came out awesome, and now you have something that looks like nothing else
  5. I'm working on one of these right now, and I got some cool ideas from your build. I particularly like the scoop on top - much better in my opinion than the ones I've seen draped over the rear glass. Is that the stock location for the roll bar, or did you move it further back? I'm thinking of extending my passenger compartment further back, thus the question. Thanks for posting
  6. I happened on this topic, and instantly fell in love with this Ertl Black Force car. To my eyes, it is sort of a Dick Tracy version of the Rolls Royce Jonckheere (pictured below). I think I'll pick one up and drop an Allison motor in it!
  7. I like it very much! Small thing I noticed is how you went around the chrome molding with a fine black outline. It really adds to the realism and is something I will now try in the future myself. Thanks for posting
  8. Looks awesome, although I'm stymied by the old guy figurine...is this a real person photoshopped into the photo, or an incredibly life-like figurine?
  9. Both of them are just beautiful, with colors that scream 50's style. I have to admit though, I especially LOVE the rim/tire setup on the El Camino!
  10. The Lotus is cool, as is the rest of your spy collection. And out of curiosity I looked up "The Prisoner", and now I have a whole new program to binge-watch. Thank you!
  11. There is no flippin way those pictures are of a model! It's not nice to take pictures of the real car and tell everyone you built it in scale
  12. Just stunning to look at, and wouldn't that just be a hoot to drive?!
  13. Just insane...I love it!
  14. Excellent work. I especially like how you detailed the shut lines.
  15. I love the whole setup and stance. And I am totally jealous of how good you got the engine details!
  16. Wow! Awesome exterior, interior, engine compartment, and even undercarriage!
  17. I ran into this same question on my build. The answer can be found in researching "Casale V- drive" found in the "Hemi-under-glass"
  18. Thank you all for your input on the issue I was having with paint. I came to the realization that there was some kind of substance on the raw red plastic. I'm not sure if it was a 50 year old releasing agent or oils that had come out of the plastic itself, but a good scrubbing of all parts in the sink with dishwashing detergent did the trick and the paint held just fine thereafter. The Astrovette is now posted on the WIP and Models pages.
  19. Superb job on paintwork, and capturing all the little details. I find the dash to be the hardest part of my builds these days, and yours looks excellent.
  20. That is exactly what I was looking for, and yet hours of searching online and I came up with nothing. Thank you so much!
  21. Just beautiful! I was checking your photos against my 1/18th scale MiniChamps diecast, and yours was every bit as nice as that $$$ model.
  22. Fantastic job. The photos look like a 1:1
  23. Very clean execution on a classy car
  24. I was given a mostly complete KA Models Revell Shelby GT500 detail up etched parts kit, but no instructions. I can figure out most of the parts, but some of them elude me. Does anyone have such a kit, and could they pm me the instructions? Thanks much

    Willys

Awesome job on both! And now you've given me ideas for future builds as well
