  1. The nearest Hobbytown is in Sunnyvale, CA. They have a nice selection of models and finishing supplies and are very friendly. They have been open about 3 years and I am hoping that they make it. Three Hobbytowns have gone out of business in my area in the last 15 years.
  2. Thanks for posting the pics. Kudos to Round 2 for offering a new kit of a late model car.
  3. Nice model. Cool video.
  4. Very sharp. Well finished and detailed.
  5. Good job. I really dig the weathering. Very realistic and not over done.
  6. I'm glad you saved it. Good job.
  7. Sharp looking woody wagon. Good job.
  8. Looks good. I've always liked 1960's vans whether it is a Ford, Chevy or Dodge.
  9. Good job. Nice color choice.
  10. Very sharp Good job.
  11. Looks good. Nice choice of grille.
  12. Looks sharp. Well built and finished.
  13. Cool deuce. Nice period look.
  14. Cool woody. The body color contrasts well with the wood.
  15. In my area the oldest hobby shop would be Sheldon's Hobbies. They specialize in R/C cars but they carry a decent inventory of model car kits and finishing supplies. They have been in business since the late 1950's. Last October the other long time hobby shop, D&J Hobby closed up for good after 30 plus years in business.
  16. Last year I used Alclad on a set of valve covers. I used Testors enamel gloss black as a base and allowed it to cure for at least a week. I then airbrushed Alclad in thin coats at a low air pressure. You need to check the progress after each coat until you reached the finish you want. Once it seems to look like chrome, stop. Any more coats will ruin the chrome finish. You might be tempted to add another coat to make it more like kit chrome but don't. This process takes a while. Take your time and don't rush it. I was surprised that it took me 30-45 minutes to paint a set of valve covers. You need to remember that the best Alclad finish will never be as good as kit chrome.
  17. Nice solution. The lack of door mirrors on some kits can be frustrating.
  18. Good job. I wish I could finish a build in 10 days. The red interior really pops against the silver body.
  19. I went to Hobby Lobby last Friday in Morgan Hill, CA and found the same kits listed in this topic on clearance. Good deals.
  20. Nice build. I am going to have to get me one of these kits.
  21. Very sharp. Good job making a snap kit look nice.
  22. Very impressive collection. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Pretty cool stuff. I have seen coverage of this race in different car magazines. It was even featured in Velocity Channel's AmeriCarna.
  24. I am not into rad rods but yours came out very well. Good job on the weathering.
  25. Nice build. Nothing cooler than a black Cadillac.
