  1. Randy looking good and the dash looks great. I am a little behind you. I am sorry the grill looks great
  2. It is looking good. The interior looks very accurate. Great job
  3. I have the kit of the 930 Turbo. I think it is a 1988. I think the one thing that has discouraged me from building it is the amount of masking that will need to be done on the black trim and bumpers. Since everything on the bumpers are molded together. I have the kit at home and I figure I may or may not ever build it. I will say it looks good especially the stance as compared to the Fujimi 911's.
  4. Tim thanks again for your input. I did make note on my instructions I needed to make an adjustment for the shaker hood because of it being too high. I went through your notes on your quick build off of your sight. I believe I have sucessfully added moldings on each side of the grill for the red stripe. I will post the picture tonight when I get home. I am loving the kit. I should finish the engine this weekend after I get new spark plug wires in the mail.
  5. Randy I looked at my Cuda-Challenger restoration book last night and it pretty much verifies this information. I have found the book inaccurate on a few accounts but since two sources say it well????? Btw the Red Book Mopar guide by Peter Sessler doesn't show anything but FE5 being available with both front and rear bumpers. The parts manual supports I think nine colors. Actually if you look at the restoration guide the FJ5 color came with either chrome front and rear or a front bumper in chrome with a painted rear bumper. I think this comes from the parts catalog of 1970-1971 and I believe that cannot be accurate. I do know there are cars out there in FJ5 with the A21 front bumper painted option. Really confusing.
  6. great project and keep us posted
  7. Randy thanks for sharing that link and once again I learn something new about classic mopars!
  8. Randy I think originally the Lime Light cars if they had a painted front bumper the rear would still be chrome. I think either way looks good.
  9. Randy that is same place mine is distorted.
  10. drodg

    76 AMC Pacer

    nicely done
  11. Randy and everyone who has the model. I finished priming my body last night and I noticed on the body above the left rear wheel opening that it is distorted. I opened another Cuda I bought and it has the same thing. Has anyone else noticed this? I am at work now so I cannot take pictures. I probably am more sensitive to it because I plan on replicating a side molding instead of stripes down the side.
  12. Good job and I feel the pain as I have one or two projects like that.
  13. Looks good.
  14. Makes sense, I hadn't noticed that.
  15. Wow great job! BTW how does one build two models over the weekend and actually do a really good job? I wonder if my wife would be talking to me by Monday am.......
  16. I have two of them and I am working on one. I think the chrome appears fine on mine.
  17. Well we are finishing the AMT double dragster set right now. It wasn't an easy kit. I wanted to throw it a couple of times against the wall. He got as a birthday gift to him from my daughter. I wanted something he could take home and do on his own. He is helping me with my Revell Hemi Cuda and is learning how to use plastic glue and windshield glue etc. I actually bought him an AMT 09 Corvette pace car. It is one of the Showroom Replica series. I think it is a snap and glue. I didn't want him to be intimidated by a model and not finish it. He kind of leans to sports cars as his favorite cars. Thanks again everyone your insight was very helpful.
  18. Thanks everyone
  19. I will report the progress. May I ask why you needed a bracket for your alternator? I just got done soaking my alternator and carbs in Easy Off to remove the chrome and was planning on installing tonight or tomorrow evening.
  20. Randy looks great. I am painting and building my engine now.
  21. Carl are you talking the hardtop reissue or the convertible?
  22. I have five grandsons and I had three of them with me Saturday. I told them that one of them needs to pick up my love of building model cars. Art I really appreciate your input on having him pick out the model. He loves everything from Mopar muscle cars to Ferrari's and I want him to do most of the building with my assistance. His father has never built any type of model as far as I know so I need to be the guiding hand.
  23. Randy are you doing a chrome front bumper or painted?
  24. Thanks everyone. Here is a picture of my original car in about 2008.
