These look awesome, you should get back on them! -
This things lookin great! Maybe you could add a bit of negative camber to the rear end because when you lowered a real bug thats what would happen.

Man, I always tell myself that I need to build everything before painting like Dennis Lacey but I can never do it. Usually its figuring it out along the way, but my current build looks like i should be able to do all the scratch building before paint. The figuring it out along the way seams to go well for you most of the time though.

Round2 Walmart kits with unique box art.
FoMoCo66 replied to Carmak's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That 57 box art looks unique, I actually quite like it. Creig, have you checked our local Walmarts for kits yet? -
I was watching this amazing documentary a couple weeks ago. It goes into about the tragedy of the edmund fitzgerald. It is very well made with amazing CJI and a lot of great in person interviews. Definitely sit down to watch this one in full, highly recommend. RIP to the 29 sailors that died that awful night.

Okay guys, I need to know if you guys think this front axle needs moved forward, because it looks a little to far back? Edit: Looking at some photos, I think i have it sitting on the frame wrong, oops! -
Amazing combo on this one Tim. And that wax residue looks like sand built up from after surfing at the beach.

That's some mighty fine work right there. I think thats a very genious way to build up material, and that things definitely not coming off of there based on how much material you got there.

Original AMT '64 GTO meets newer Revell '66 GTO and more!

Amazing work with this one! Crazy how fast you a shaping this one up. -
Nice work on that chassis swap! I love doing modern kit chassis under old hard to find kits. I actually put a amt 66 fairlane chassis in an annual 66 ford falcon. It had to be shortened a bit but sence they were based on the same chassis IRL with the fairlane being longer it is realy as correct as you can get.

Alright, finished up the chop. I glued the top on and did the rough sanding around the window openings.

Thank you, its only my 2nd time chopping a car and i think this one went way better than the last!

Amazing work there, you need to think about resin casting this stuff and selling it. Absolutely superb work that some people with your particularity but not the skills might want!
-
Thanks! I also like how this chop gives your windshield more of a layed back look.

I got the rear segment in place last night. I had to raise the area that was cut at an angle to be level. I also had to add some more material to the edge sence the c pillar had to be moved forward.

Really nice work on this one so far! -
Oh the things I could do with a bigger arsenal of evergreen. If only I had a good hobby shop that sold all the odds and end sizes.
-
That's brilliant! The little details you can accomplish are outstanding, the hood moldings especially.
-
Looks really good! Did you make your own half round, if so, how, I saw you had in-between those two pieces of metal?

Alright guys, after knocking out a couple of other projects I decided to try chopping this body. I followed @Kit Karson's awesome step by step tutorial on chopping this thing, so at least that made it a little easier on my end. Time to mark those cuts and go crazy with the razor saw! The top is off! Heres all 3 pieces needed for this chop. And here it is all set together, nothings glued. All that filling and glueing will happen during a later time at the bench! Elliot
